@crypto8888 @BennettTomlin We’re saying *a lot* about Tether because there’s *a lot* to say. The issues with Tether can’t be boiled down to one quick sentence. We see many systemic problems that start with Tether and Bitfinex, tho.

@Teaching_Crypto The only thing I would say is we didn’t even get a quick snap back after the breakdown… the on chain is showing a lot of buying from whales and retail… also the bitfinex shorts are coming off at support and being loaded up at resistance, whales accumulating & playing us again?

can’t help but feel like if Bitfinex and Tether took the money they’ve paid the four PR firms they’ve used, the money they waste having Stu and Paolo reply to tweets, and time they waste going on podcasts maybe they’d have an audit done

@iamjosephyoung Bitfinex Longs are 4x greater than Shorts. Shorts are almost irrelevant. When the Longs go down, the market can CRASH.

@SeverinAlexB @bitfinex I think the problem is that a lot of people use bitfinex as substitute for loop. And because they have enough onchain balance, there is no need to close the channels. Hence the liquidity is sucked in the channels. Plebs should either raise their fees or looking for better peers.

@AutomataEmily This weekend could be a very very rough ride. Although the shorts have slowed down on bitfinex, low volume could mean one last cheap opportunity for manipulation. But.. you can never tell.. it’s crypto after all..

@gulovsen you know also, while they could've disclosed the loan to tether more clearly, the terms of service were noticed to have been changed at the time to include loans to affiliated parties. bitfinex was solvent - and they repaid the loans early. there also remains hope to recover

Expect the unexpected. Somebody deposited over a billion in BTC to Coinbase, then somebody withdrew it shortly after. Either an OTC deal, or somebody is trying to trigger automated systems to short based on inflows - and help them exit their Bitfinex shorts lower... 👀

@Pastore1314 If you look at volume gaps between here and there, there are minor supports at $27k and $23k. Also, looking at how the Bitfinex margin longs close and reopen on the way down could give hints at sentiment changes during the fall.
