This is not an issue. Countless athletes don’t sing their national anthems. But because Americans are brainwashed from birth about the anthem, we get articles like this and that ridiculous one against Gabby back in 2016.

@LiveatOriel @ballsdotie @VMSportIE Ah now, learning our anthem in a language he doesn’t understand, kissing the badge and tweeting ‘up the ra’ but Killers comment is in poor taste. Funny how the English fans don’t have a problem with him but hate J.McClane

Just saw something dont think I have ever seen. At concession stand ordering food. Time for National anthem and everything comes to complete halt. Service workers remove hats and stand at attention. Everyone in line does same. Everything literally stopped. Could hear pin drop.

@NicBarelli PS exclusives (wasn’t great for Destiny players), future content that, presumably, will be paid for by in-game store cosmetic items(not working out for Anthem), and just a general lack of gameplay during the show. I hope my concerns are nothing, though! I want me some Avengers!

Not all of the #USMNT starting XI sang the National Anthem just now. I respect their free choice. However, I now expect everyone criticizing @mPinoe to apologize, admit your problem is not patriotic but misogynistic, or at least STFU. Thank you & GO USA! #USAvsTT #GoldCup2019

@TheTylt The Anthem had been playing in Football events for years. No one had a problem with it until an awful player had a problem with it.

So, we understand UR hate. Problem I have is by UR actions. U R telling us U hate all of us. Including the military who fought 4 UR right 2 act like a spoiled child. Our flag, national anthem is about our country, not a person or organizations. Won't hate U, but don't respect U.

@talkSPORT @talkSPORTDrive I don’t think the booing of a national anthem is so bad to be honest or that to much should be read into it. The anthem is booed due to them playing against us not because we have an issue with the country itself. Our anthem gets booed and it doesn’t bother me at all.

Meh. It's used by nearly every brand to advertise, this just puts it out on front street. Shoot, half of Super Bowl ads are contrived efforts to tie some major brand into military service. Either way, making the anthem an exclusively military thing has always been problematic.
