    This isn't even anything NEW - nothing prevents Ubisoft from offering this service without linking it to Nutty Fungus Tokens - CSGO has Startrak weapons - Diablo 3 had the Auction House that everyone hated got removed after release - Star Citizen has those $2,500 space ships

    @ZooL_Smith @CSGO Source 2 is newer so it is easier to fix the bugs that have been in the game for a long time. There are other benefits but the newer code is better

    @cashfIo @SkillUpYT @BikiniBodhi None of what you said requires NFTs. CSGO has a system already games can use. The problem is most games don’t have the lifespan CSGO has. And not everything needs to turn into a marketplace where things are bought sold and traded. It’s a sick addiction to consumption

    @jeanbatiste_ @aevanko @tezos Energy use is just one of the many problems of NFTs. There's others as well. Also to my knowledge, seems like Ubisoft's implementation is basically just Steam's CSGO market with a bunch of extra/redundant steps.

    @SkillUpYT Disagree. I don't see games like dota and CS:GO having problems due to the fact that they have in game items that have high monetary value.

    @Macrike I don't think it is different in this case! I also happen to have issues with the CSGO skins marketplace too. It's just that the buzz around blockchain and NFTs is going to lead to more and more examples of this kind of business model and I'm really not wild about that.

    @snyppololo @LotharHS @Suafps Which means there was at one point a cheating problem. I didnt say they arent gonna take care of it, I said that Valorant will at one point have cheater as well, which is kinda what you just said too? CSGO took care of it with 3rd party, Siege is yet to come.

    @TheRedShirtGuy That's why this whole thing is becoming stupider by the day. Why would they back in-game items with an NFT if a) they already exist and have for a long time (i.e. TF2, CSGO, etc.), and b) the game may have a limited shelf life which would crash the apparent price. So. Dumb.

    @heheh3llo As far as I know, you can still sell CSGO skins. The problem I have is I know a lot of low effort DLCs will be packaged as NFTs and be sold for a lot more than the content is worth but bought as a gamble to hopefully sell higher.

    @CSGORoll Csgo roll banned me for thanking them for allowing me to win 600$ on their service in chat. No real reason apparent. Maybe they just don't like compliments? This happened months ago.
