@RKRigney @DeJayDev @discord Great work! I honestly don't mind the compression change if we're getting a 2x boost in upload. I never had an issue with just 10 MB mobile anyway.

@discord Please help! My friend’s Discord account was hacked, and we believe the hacker may have changed the email address connected to the account. She still has access to the original email, but she is not receiving any Discord recovery emails there. We have submitted a support request and can provide any information needed to verify that she is the original owner of the account. Could you please help us get this case looked at or direct us to the appropriate recovery team? 🙏 If anyone could Repost or Tag Discord in the comments that would be great! Thanks!

Why most crypto Discords die within a month Familiar pattern: invites go out, a few thousand people join during the hype, and a couple of weeks later the server turns into spam, bots, and silence. The problem is not @discord. The problem is launching the server like a chat instead of a product. For a Web3 project, Discord is not about a pretty member count. It is there to: - separate holders from tourists - store knowledge and onboarding - give people a reason to come back - protect the community from scams - connect activity to token or NFT retention What actually works Start with a simple structure: Welcome, Announcements, Start Here, General, Holders, Support. Not 40 empty channels on launch day. Roles and token-gating turn the server into a map of real participants. Small holders get access, larger holders get more. Sell the token and you lose status. That is already retention, not just chat. Security is also marketing. One scam in the channel can burn months of trust. Verification, anti-raid tools, a no-DM-first policy from mods, and tight link permissions need to be in place before you open the doors. Then you need rhythm: AMAs, quests, holder-only updates, member-generated content. Without a calendar, even a good server quietly dies. What to track instead of vanity metrics DAU/WAU, message velocity, 30-day retention, verification rate. 4,000 active members beat 40,000 dead accounts every time. Bottom line In 2026, Discord is project infrastructure. Structure, security, programming, and retention work together. Without that, any traffic just leaks out.

@SnivyianReborn @Shaggykurwo @discord If a feature starts to become too costly for me, I’ll either remove it or scale it back for people who don’t pay for the service; otherwise, I’d have to subsidize it for them, and unfortunately, these are often people who don’t even fully appreciate the service.
