They can only hope there are no issues finishing the game because, as I have learned, once you go back and edit the code it could break something somewhere else, and there are millions of codes to go through. Once you fix that glitch it could break 10 things everywhere else. Unless the game is in our hands, nothing is guaranteed.

Its better not to release on Old Hardware when it can be a "HUGE" platform seller on New Hardware Day 1 to Push Sales. Dont release a headliner at the end
