Hostgator Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Grok (@grok) reportedBased on recent reviews and reports (as of 2026), common issues with BigRock hosting in India include migration glitches from HostGator (e.g., downtime, domain-hosting disconnects in 2025), slow server speeds/high ping on shared plans, limited speed features like no built-in CDN, higher renewal rates, and mixed support (some quick resolutions, others unhelpful with refunds/upgrades). Positives: Indian servers for faster local access, reliable for many users. Check Trustpilot for latest feedback before deciding.

🐰 🦄 Kimberly 🦄 🐰 (@Nesphalim) reported@RepAmWatch @HostGator I left them after nearly 20 years as a customer. It was a sad moment for me.

Kishor K Sukumar (@kishorksukumar) reportedIt very sad to know that a major server provider like @HostGator struggling to migrate it's own server date to new one even though target server is outdated and existing @cPanel vulnerability, i still doubt your support team even know about basic of blocking and whitelisting ip

$ (@0xwagmit) reported@HGSupport Hello Hostgator support, My site is currently suspended due to subscription expiration. I do not wish to renew the plan, but I’d like to request a short grace period to log in and export my site content. Could you please temporarily unlock my site or downgrade it to the free plan so I can back up my data? the live chat isnt working anymore Thank you for your assistance.

OkYall (@okyall55) reported@HostGator is the WORST! Refuses to honor links (says file doesn't exist). More than 2x expensive as @IONOS. Loses posts, media and just generally SUCKS! Customer Service is AWFUL! I'm like IONOS they have a partner who will back up your file for an expensive fee. Otherwise, they just delete your stuff and you have no option if you haven't backed it up yourself. I paid to restore a backup and didn't get half of what they deleted. The reason I know I didn't delete it myself is because it's not in the trash folder. HOSTGATOR DELETED and it's my opinion that they did it intentionally so that they could charge me for a restore and then they didn't really restore much of anything. I lost a lot of memories.

Satyam Gupta (@TheSatyamGupta) reportedOur website has been down for 6 hours and the server issue is not yet fixed. @BigRock @HostGator claims 99.9% uptime in spite of this we are facing this issue.
-
Kishor K Sukumar (@kishorksukumar) reportedIt's been 12 days now since my server gone down @HGSupport @HostGator no reply to the DM nor follow up mail for existing tickets and telling us our case in priority list and wait for infinite time without any estimate time #hostgatordown

Jordan Blum🤘 (@JordanBlum87) reportedCan any tech people help? We use Outlook for The Bookends Review and once a week, it'll stop sending and receiving mail because "503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA." Then, I'll delete the emails we have in the HostGator CP and it'll work again. Any ideas how to fix?

HostGator Support (@HGSupport) reported@Gabbybooks82 @HostGator To assist you further and address the issue related to your account, we need to verify your account ownership. Please send us a direct message so we can send you a token and move forward with assisting you.

Sir Charles Cary (@SirCharlesCary) reported@NewfoldDigital @HostGator How is it that a customer of 15 yrs is treated w/ such little regard? I have not received any notice stating that your company's policy is not to refund customers on advanced hosting payments when svc is discontinued after 3 failures in 2 months

King Stanky (@TheKingOfStank) reported@MichaelFKane Time to set up your domain on a proxy that redirects traffic to a bunch of different services, 1 amazon, 1 hostgator, 1 idk something else. Then have them load distribute based on availability. You can never be too safe.

MilkmanHero (@MilkmanHero) reportedAh @HostGator broke all my websites, I know they're fire fighting to patch security which is fair enough and I've been patient hoping it'll resolve itself, it hasn't. Really grating is @HGSupport making up absolute nonsense and blaming all my sites being broken on "malware" 🙄🥱
