Autark (@Aut4rk) reported@process_eli I went to school for my assosciate's in applied sciences for computer programming & analysis way back in 2002. I quit a semester later and got a job as a remote L3 sysadmin for HostGator. They wanted me to learn Java before C++. **** that.

Brandon🇺🇦 (@bc3tech) reported@HGSupport @mulls2go appears local mailboxes are ok, but forwarders to external boxes are broken.

Stan Vee (@Stan_VeeS) reported@FakeUncleNemo @zrkann I got out of @HostGator about 10 yrs ago. They sabotaged one of my servers and asked $250 for "emergency upgrade". Funny enough, the support engineer who I was on the phone with, fixed it without it but had to switch it off again so they could keep the scam going 🤡

OkYall (@okyall55) reported@HostGator deleted MANY of my posts on my personal blogs. Not me. Hostgator!!! Now, they won't restore them unless I pay them to do it. I've been a customer for 20 years or more. Never thought I would see the day that they would be so blatantly crooked. If you use Hostgator, you have to pay for them to back up your blog or pay a third party. Or you have to copy everything on your site. BlueHost is cheaper, backs up every day, charges nothing extra to do it and restores for no charge. What happened to @HostGator?????
-
OkYall (@okyall55) reported@HostGator is the WORST! Refuses to honor links (says file doesn't exist). More than 2x expensive as @IONOS. Loses posts, media and just generally SUCKS! Customer Service is AWFUL! I'm like IONOS they have a partner who will back up your file for an expensive fee. Otherwise, they just delete your stuff and you have no option if you haven't backed it up yourself. I paid to restore a backup and didn't get half of what they deleted. The reason I know I didn't delete it myself is because it's not in the trash folder. HOSTGATOR DELETED and it's my opinion that they did it intentionally so that they could charge me for a restore and then they didn't really restore much of anything. I lost a lot of memories.

Michele Elliston (@micheleelliston) reported@HostGator is there a problem with customer service? I've been waiting for ages just to get someone to help me.
-
FastCow.com (@fastcowhosting) reported@HGSupport Ouch, looks like we hit a nerve. Maybe if you guys replied to him quicker like you tweeted us instead of having him cry for help for 7 days might do the trick? Just 2 cents from us ;)
-
Alex | Vibe Coder (@AlexVibeCode) reported@ChristianNFocus @HostGator That’s the worst kind of billing hit — not just expensive, but disconnected from actual usage.
-
Tapish Jain (@_tapish) reported@BigRock The migration has so many bugs that it is impossible for me to renew my hosting that I had on hostgator. If I didn't renew by tomorrow, my servers will go down, while bigrock support says they are helpless. This video is misleading. @bhavintu

o-mega.ai (@o_mega___) reportedCatwatchful’s breach exposed thousands of victim and customer records in July 2025, with attackers leaking photos, locations, and messages. Operators bypassed the first shutdown by migrating APIs to HostGator—demonstrating how stalkerware survives by shifting infrastructure faster than hosts can react. Google only started flagging the app with Play Protect after TechCrunch’s publication, and the spyware’s operators relaunched service within days. This cycle shows tech platforms can barely keep up when stalkerware pivots, and just about every stalkerware provider eventually leaks all their data.

Brian Modansky (@BrianModansky) reportedWired, and Revenue magazine. Later on HostGator got a deal with Google to parter and offer free hosting with the ability to sign up for Free Hosting in Google’s India region. I was put in charge of theming the control panel. Google promoted it and it got 140,000 sign ups in the first month. Later on my friend sold the company for $300,000,000. When it sold my buddy promised me that he would buy me a house and I would have a good payout and I would be able to work with him as a non profit building water wells to people in need. Later when I thought I would get millions he only gave me $130,000 and then moved several hours out of town in the middle of no where on a big ranch. I was very mad at him at the time because not just because I didn’t get millions of dollars like my other friends who I helped start the company with but the $130,000 I couldn’t buy a home. I was contracted to help stay at the company for a year and help transition to the new ownership. I stayed and instead of having to answer to just the founder I all of a sudden had a whole ladder of executives above me telling me what I should work on instead of having the creative freedom to direct myself. Then the downsizing started to occur. The new ownership layed off entire departments of people to outsource their work to 3rd party companies. I saw all my friends get fired and they did this to improve their numbers because they were planning on bringing the company

✌ Brando™ 🇨🇦 Whistler (@surfingshreddie) reported@HGSupport yes. chat said it was my fault. phone help says it is a HGator issue and is fixing one website at a time
-
Techbit (@AkramInamdar4) reportedHosting a website shouldn’t cost a fortune. With @hostgator, you get: Unlimited storage & bandwidth Free domain & SSL certificate 24/7 support Starting at just $2.95/month
-
Stella DiMarco (@Stelladmarco) reported@HostGator - their support staff has repeatedly displayed minimal to zero knowledge and are not much more than phone answering clerks. Numerous times we've been given false and varying info. as for the reason for issues #badwebhosting
-
Zennie Abraham ZENNIE62 #SuperBowlLX #NFLDRAFT (@ZennieAbraham62) reportedHey @grok do you know why HostGator now closes its offices rather than give 24-hour support, unlike they sed to ?
-
Guy (@Hal_chair) reported@HGSupport How to you access the live chat support. It has been disabled for months now. All live chat support does is show you a list of "is this your problem" crap.
-
Geetha Prabhu (Workflexi) (@geetu11) reported@BigRock @hostgatorindia Can someone call me on my registered mobile no. pls? Every week our emails are down and your team takes one whole day to rectify the problem. When it was hostgator, we never faced this issue. What is that you guys are doing differently that we have to suffer every week!!??
-
Mehmet (@mettersoy) reportedHostGator support eventually confirmed it: “All outbound connections are blocked.” Yes. The server could not make outbound HTTPS requests (port 443). If you’re a dev, you already know: That breaks EVERYTHING.
-
Fabiyi | React | TypeScript (@script_codes) reported@MudiTheInvestor @myarmone @HostGator Tbh It’s also happens with network providers. Most people they have answering the calls don’t know or can’t really provide a solution to your problems. Many times where I had to insist on them transferring me to their superior.
-
OkYall (@okyall55) reported@Hostgator, unbeknownst to me, no longer provide, free backups. Had I known this, I certainly would have moved my blog much, much sooner to @BlueHost who provides it DAILY for a free with a $0 restore fee. You have lost your customer service score but your bottom line may have increased TEMPORARILY. Now that I've been forced to review my choice of hosting services for all my blogs and websites, I also have learned that they have almost 10 points higher ratings than you and are a fraction of how much you charge. Why on earth would anybody pay more, get less, and risk loss? Since I have suffered from your lack of customer care, I will be moving my blogs. Do not touch them again until I have gotten all of my content removed
-
Mike Shor (@MikeShor) reported@HostGator It makes me very sad but I'm transitioning all of my domains away from HostGator as your customer support went from amazing to complete crap in the last two years
-
Zak Kann (Fractional CTO) (@zrkann) reported@FakeUncleNemo Agree generally, but not with Hostgator. EIG subsidiaries (Hostgator, Bluehost, etc) lure people in with cheap intro rates but they quickly raise the prices, their defaults are slow and often have security vulnerabilities, and their customer support, well, I'm not sure it exists.
-
Mrchispa (@Mrchispa8) reported@HostGator my websites are down? Could you help me?
-
Chris (@ccpharrell) reportedI don't post often, but wanted to reiterate how terrible @HostGator is....down yet again with a 24 - 48 hour ETR....great stuff...

Eagins Media (@eaginsmedia) reported@HostGator Is there an issue with down websites???
