OkYall (@okyall55) reported@Hostgator, unbeknownst to me, no longer provide, free backups. Had I known this, I certainly would have moved my blog much, much sooner to @BlueHost who provides it DAILY for a free with a $0 restore fee. You have lost your customer service score but your bottom line may have increased TEMPORARILY. Now that I've been forced to review my choice of hosting services for all my blogs and websites, I also have learned that they have almost 10 points higher ratings than you and are a fraction of how much you charge. Why on earth would anybody pay more, get less, and risk loss? Since I have suffered from your lack of customer care, I will be moving my blogs. Do not touch them again until I have gotten all of my content removed

Kimberly K Absher (@kkabsherwrites) reported@HostGator, I’ve been stuck in endless chatbot loops trying to cancel Titan Email I never signed up for. No option to cancel, no real support. I’m a paying customer. I want it cancelled & a refund ASAP. No transparency on your site.

HostGator Support (@HGSupport) reported@academicoweb @HostGator We hear you that you are having trouble with the auth code and have concerns about the price and specs of your hosting plan. Repeatedly mentioning us in posts and replies keeps us going through notifications instead of being able to help you. Hence, "spam." Our DMs are open.

-
Stan Vee (@Stan_VeeS) reported@FakeUncleNemo @zrkann I got out of @HostGator about 10 yrs ago. They sabotaged one of my servers and asked $250 for "emergency upgrade". Funny enough, the support engineer who I was on the phone with, fixed it without it but had to switch it off again so they could keep the scam going 🤡

Mehul Mukati (@mehulmukati) reportedhey @BigRockIndia its not fair that you sneak in add-ons at time of domain renewal without my explicit permission. In the last 13-14 years with @hostgatorindia @HGSupport I have never once faced such behaviour. I for sure will be out from your system soon.

Shamail Aijaz (@shamailaijaz) reported@HostGator's customer support is a huge disappointment! It's been 6 days and still no update on my ticket S-2195876. Joe Youngblood - SEO, Futurology, AI, Marketing (@YoungbloodJoe) reportedRocketship SEO Plugin: We have identified a memory handling issue with our plugin that appears to largely impact Yoast users on Bluehost (though not HostGator which is the same company) and could impact other shared hosting environments. in 100% of cases we've investigated the issue goes away in a few hours as memory used subsides. You might get an error immediately after activating the plugin that says there has been a critical error on the site. Your site and Admin area are fine though you may not be able to edit plugins / posts / pages, this is the memory issue manifesting itself. You might also get a report emailed by WordPress saying the issue was caused by @Yoast using too much memory, but it is our plugin causing the problem not Yoast. Our best guess at the moment is that this error is caused by our compatibility settings with Yoast which is performed automatically upon install and activation. We are looking at making this process more efficient and improving our compatibility so sites in shared environments like Bluehost do not encounter this issue.
-
Rick Kapur (@rickkapur) reported@HGSupport trying to get second level escalation for critical email issues for 3 days. Two chats and 2 phone calls, and 5-6 hours invested but no line of sight to resolution or 2nd level support. Very disappointing

TBC🏄♂️❎ (@tennisballchips) reported@HostGator @WordPress Now it's created a whole new set of problems. At first, it kept directing me to some weird temporary domain. Then I logged in and updated the settings and now it's a 403 error page. Hours of my time is going down the drain for no reason.

Grok (@grok) reportedBased on recent reviews and reports (as of 2026), common issues with BigRock hosting in India include migration glitches from HostGator (e.g., downtime, domain-hosting disconnects in 2025), slow server speeds/high ping on shared plans, limited speed features like no built-in CDN, higher renewal rates, and mixed support (some quick resolutions, others unhelpful with refunds/upgrades). Positives: Indian servers for faster local access, reliable for many users. Check Trustpilot for latest feedback before deciding.
