Hephzibah Magazine TV (@Gabbybooks82) reported@HGSupport What else do you need.D server has been down for 3 weeks. When it happened we immediately contacted you, and you recommended, we purchase a new dedicated server for migration, which we did but you never could fix the old server to migrate us to D new. *I-25506113 is the ref ID*

Daniel Micovic (@DanMicovic) reported@HGSupport @HostGator week 2 of server being down and zero access to my sites or emails. Escalated support has stopped responding, no updates on open tickets and zero responses from support here. Has @HostGator given up?

Sean Wyseman (@StressStopper) reported@HostGator @WamanyaPious Not when you make changes that totally disrupt 20 years of workflow & you don't warn or give your customers a choice or a say in the matter. You've forever lost my biz cuz you just don't do that if you like your customers. So NO this is the shittiest deal I've ever gotten from an IT provider. Even gmail gives their customers & choice & plenty of warning. You screwed up & hope it costs you dearly because this is NOT something you do to a customer base without repercussions & pissed off customers. You're response here just made it worse - showing that you don't give a ****. Basically I read it this way. "Tough if you don't like it - bugger off - you don't have control over what the interface will do & what it will look like - so go elsewhere because we decide what our customers get & we don't let pissed off customers have a say!

Celes Chere (@BrianMarti42502) reported@YoungbloodJoe @HostGator hahaha - host gator sucks ***, we moved from them to inmotion very early on. And if you got indians doing any sort of migration you are going to have to get a US based dev involved for sure.

Alex | Vibe Coder (@AlexVibeCode) reported@ChristianNFocus @HostGator That’s the worst kind of billing hit — not just expensive, but disconnected from actual usage.
-
mgear (@unitycoder_com) reported@HostGator suddenly charged ~103% more for my website hosting, have used HG for 15 years, with about same price all the time.. now doing transfer to @Namecheap to try them instead! *with free migration service!
-
Sleak (@Sleaklight) reportedWith @hgsupport now charging $2.99 for additional emails, I took the time to review my plan. I was on a business plan and wiped all old websites not in use and cut down on email accounts and will be able to downgrade to a hatchling account. Their increase turn into savings for me

Daniel De la Cruz (@dadeze) reported@HostGator My server has been down for three weeks, and I still haven't received a response. They don't have any backups. I want to know if I should consider the data from my two accounts on the VPS lost.
-
HostGator (@HostGator) reported@generouncambio @HGSupport We work to make sure that requested domains can be registered before charging. Unexpected barriers can arise after the request is made and we have to change course. If you have questions about the registration process, please contact our support team through your account portal.

L. Scott Ferguson (@ask4ferguson) reported@wordpressdotcom So you are saying that it is @HostGator issue? It's your site that is slow loading? It's atrocious. I have another site I have on wordpress hosted by another company and wordpress is still SLOW, terrible. But hey that's customer service these days
-
Dustin (@DPRea) reportedAt 21 I started a web hosting company for under $500. - rented a server from HostGator - studied their "get your first 1,000 customers" ebook like scripture - pitched people in forums Shocker: nobody wanted web hosting from a college kid. So I changed the offer. I started selling websites instead. New website owners have the problem of "Where do I host this?" I would bundle the hosting as part of the website build in exchange for putting their credit card on file for next year. I didn't realize it at the time, but this is when I learned about the 'Front Doors' and 'Back Doors'. It's easy to fool yourself when researching a business or competitor when all you can see is their 'Front Door'. The offer on your competitor's website may look too good to be true and you may wonder how can they possibly do that? They have a 'Back Door' offer that must offset it and then some. You usually can't see it from the outside.

Daniel Micovic (@DanMicovic) reported@HostGator @HGSupport we are now nearing 72 hours without access to our three sites. Zero e-mails updating the situation, daily support chats (whose transcripts are emailed), multiple PM with you on this platform...and nothing. It is time for HG to begin providing real answers beyond cut-and-paste ones.
-
Daniel Micovic (@DanMicovic) reported@Hostgator over 36 hours and no email or update, sites still down. Rep this morning cannot confirm who is or isn't on the list, as frontline reps have no access to the engineering team.

Makarand Mane | Organising #WCAsia 2026 (@mkrndmane) reported@HGSupport I asked your support agent to create a ticket for 4 times. Then she created it. Provide an easy option to create support ticket instead of a chat option

Joe Youngblood - SEO, Futurology, AI, Marketing (@YoungbloodJoe) reportedWe have a client hosted by @HostGator's shared hosting system and has been for around 20-years or so. They've hit the limit of 'inodes' on the highest shared hosting plan so were forced to upgrade either by leaving Host Gator or going to a VPS. After a discussion with Host Gator they decided to take a discounted offer and switch to an HG hosted VPS server, HG graciously tossed in free migration from the shared hosting to VPS for a smooth transition. It has been a nightmare since. The website's images are almost all no longer displaying. Host Gator's "migration" team is in India and has screwed up the migration twice now all while a USA based sales person keeps assuring our client that things are going to be fixed asap and it should be done any minute. At one point they took up ALL of the storage space on the VPS for this one site to be moved over. Then they were silent for a full 24-hours before sending a disclaimer and asking permission to delete the data on the VPS server. We are 5 full days into this ordeal without a successful server migration and client is now in a full blown panic. They decided to keep ads running, etc... after being told it would be done in less than 24-hours. They paid for a full year of this hosting up front saying HG's support had improved in recent years and are now getting completely wrecked. Client is worried they might accidentally delete the website or other websites they had built on the shared hosting (which they are keeping). GoDaddy often gets numerous (and extremely valid) complaints about being the worst hosting solution, but all of @NewfoldDigital is right behind them.
-
Daniel Micovic (@DanMicovic) reported@Hostgator @HGSupport We are entering Week 2 without access to revenue producing websites and still no updates from "escalated support team". This is obviously beyond HG scope as no other hosts are still struggling with this issue. Unacceptable.
-
SetraHost (@SetraHost) reportedThinking about leaving Bluehost, HostGator, or SiteGround? We make it easy with free same day migrations, zero downtime and real human support. No risk - just faster, more reliable hosting at lower prices. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions and we're here to help!

Rafael Polcaro (@rafaelpolcaro) reported@HostGator for the past 4 months my website was offline for about 7 days, the Brazilian branch of Hostgator sadly it’s terrible, I'm just a few hours from completing 48 hours offline. Seems nobody cares, never had a server provider like this. It takes days to get the website on
-
MilkmanHero (@MilkmanHero) reportedAh @HostGator broke all my websites, I know they're fire fighting to patch security which is fair enough and I've been patient hoping it'll resolve itself, it hasn't. Really grating is @HGSupport making up absolute nonsense and blaming all my sites being broken on "malware" 🙄🥱

Hephzibah Magazine TV (@Gabbybooks82) reported@HGSupport @HostGator @HGSupport I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother. His educational platform serving over 3000 schools in Nigeria has been down for over 2 weeks under case E-527097. We keep receiving only automated responses. Any Dummy (@RepAmWatch) reported@HostGator It’s not that one size doesn’t fit all. It’s that live chat was terrible. No reply for 6-8 minutes at a time. I wasn’t asked to stand by while they researched. They repeatedly suggested an illogical solution. And your AI bot is not ready for prime time. Gives bad advice!!!
-
Zennie Abraham ZENNIE62 #SuperBowlLX #NFLDRAFT (@ZennieAbraham62) reportedHi @HostGator I am still in the chat and now for 23 minutes and not a single admin has come to see about my issue.

Joshua Buesking (@jbuesking) reported@jonathan_wilke I was there when million dollar home page started. It was an epic time early 2000’s before cloud computing existed. There was a company called “theplanet” that you could rent dedicated servers from cheap. You’d have to host your own sites back then so was a great group of users active on the company’s forum and you’d never miss a thing. Think hostgator starting, Brent Oxely was posting, Gordon with putfile, all kinds of websites I can’t remember but would all show up there to get hosted.
