Are there any Overwatch 2 design changes that do not focus on promoting increased monetisation? I've got no problem with F2P games making money, but I can't think of a single example where designing around MTX and not around gameplay has resulted in a good experience.

I won’t be able to say my proper goodbyes to overwatch 1 since my ps plus ran out a while ago, rip. I’m mad they’re going to shut it down just like that, I wish if they just took the servers down and kept the game accessible offline. It should’ve been preserved

@SYACVG I don’t see any issue. You payed full price for overwatch and got the full experience. If you want the same with Overwatch 2, buy the Watchpoint pack. I don’t complain about grinding on Apex to unlock coins for purchasing characters. Am I missing the point here?

@MISS_SlNlSTER They don't want to split the fanbase. It's not a great look if a new game releases and a noticeable percentage are still playing the original. Plus they'll have to keep two servers going. What they should have done is made Overwatch a live service platform.

@galuade_ I don't even play overwatch, but there's one thing I've learned about Blizzard players and it's this: no matter how bad the problem is, you would be SHOCKED at the amount of people who will shrug and pay up anyway

@Di_bear @AaronHosein09 @ItsBobbySocks The issue with D2 PvP is maps lose any and all sense of flow, the second you remove control points, they're building maps like this is Halo or Overwatch, without the same incentives to move like Halo and Overwatch.

@syberbolt ...with impunity. The other issue is the content distribution being the good outweighing the bad. Last I checked, the only heroes in Overwatch's post-launch my closest friends like are Sigma, Echo, or someone else who isn't directly ruining the meta.

@___Superluminal @trapoholica @PlayOverwatch That's not what I'm talking about at all. Overwatch isn't allowing people with prepaid phones or no phones to play OW2. I'm saying I have Verizon so I won't have an issue playing, but I think it's classist of Blizzard. My point wasn't negative of Verizon at all.
