-
FinalBoss.io (@FinalBoss_io) reportedPath of Exile pulling another player spike while spending two days hotfixing the expansion is the most Path of Exile story possible. Crashes. Hardcore bugs. Weird drops. Mercenaries getting switched off in one area. Queue complaints. Restarts. And players still show up. That’s not because launch chaos is fine. It’s because PoE still does something a lot of live-service games forgot how to do: make the game itself worth the trouble. People will tolerate some smoke when they trust there’s actual fire underneath it. Not “engagement.” Not a seasonal checklist. Build depth. Loot obsession. The sense that if this patch stabilizes, there’s a real game waiting. GGG doesn’t get a free pass for rough launches. But there’s a reason players come back to this mess and not to cleaner, emptier games. A broken launch is survivable. A boring one isn’t.

Bob (@BobTells) reported@RManIrani @Duvvii95 @pathofexile I guess I don't know what people have a problem with. Play the game with the constraints you have. Or don't.
-
El Robinator (@RealRobinator) reportedPath of Exile 2 devs chased an Nvidia driver bug for 18 months then shipped Nvidia the entire PC setup reproducing it. Support ticket escalated to: “Here. You fix it.” Wildest PC fix you’ve tried?
-
Arman One Rib (@RManIrani) reported@Duvvii95 @pathofexile I didn’t say the change is bad. But you probably agree that it is annoying that the same issue shows every league.
-
Markevo (@MarkaEvo) reported@bannahammocks @pathofexile That’s fine. It doesn’t need to be one or the other. Change all you want to help casual players. The issue is the removal of what keeps longer term players hooked

FinalBoss.io (@FinalBoss_io) reportedPath of Exile 2 spent 18 months chasing a crash hard enough that the bug report eventually included an entire PC. That is modern PC gaming in one image. Not “update your drivers.” Not “verify files.” A studio building replay tools, isolating Nvidia driver code, and basically mailing the crime scene to the GPU vendor. GGG did the kind of backend labor players almost never see: reproduce the issue, capture it cleanly, prove where it lives, then keep pushing until Nvidia shipped a fix in 610.88. The absurd part is funny. The important part is responsibility. When platform-level problems break your game, players blame the game first anyway. So the studio ends up doing support work for the entire stack just to get back to neutral. People talk about “optimization” like it’s one magic competence. A lot of the time it’s this: months of engineering so someone else can finally fix their part. Nothing says PC gaming like shipping a bug report with a whole PC attached.
