it’s time to riot
(@thedumpofEDEN) reported
@SNAK3SKlN so basically ppl with lots of money made short trades (sold shares of gamestop to buy them back later at a lower price to actually make profit) but ppl on reddit basically got together and bought a bunch of stock so the price went up instead of down

@DonLinn @JuddLegum For most of the reddit crowd taking down hedge funds is the end game, they literally don't care about loss at the end or else they'd be profit taking already. This is YOLO money to expose the rigged Ponzi scheme we have for most of them.

Haha. Quite a few people on Reddit have connected the dots back to RobinHood being backed by Citadel, so if they shut down the shorts (Citadel etc), they shut down Robinhood, ruining their hopes of IPO. This reallllly is the start of some sort of movement 🤯

Man, seeing every news channel talk about the GameStop stock is crazy. Reddit has completely took over the stock market. Crazy times man... all I gotta say is, what goes up, must come down. Hopefully those who did it as a meme gets out before it’s too late.

@strawbarrie_ @lucasnovaa @lonsdaleslim Hedge funds are gambling, but it's gambling they've rigged. What reddit did was have so many people buy a couple of "books" that it rigged it in the public's favor instead. Put simply, they ****** around and found out. And now they want to shut down the entire stock market.

the only issue with all these new stock holders/buyers is at some point their "leader" will yell "Sell!" on Reddit, and everyone will sell, but some won't get that message in time, and a few will get hurt.

@sarahdateechur You read the comments on Reddit where people are paying medical bills, debt, and finally able to quit their 3rd job. Robinhood bowed to WallStreet to stop them. Discord took them down to disorganize them. The 🐻 is angry.

@BridgetPhetasy If this is a problem for Wall Street, the obvious, reasonable solution is to have a junior staff member reading these Reddit threads

@DuncanHughes13 It seems pretty easy to me. A bunch of davids on reddit brought down goliath (big hedgefund) and now the entire financial establishment want to prevent it from happening again.

Plsss don’t let the media fool you and convince you that Reddit is the problem. They will use market manipulation as their scapegoat. These deplorable hedge funds who make money on the “little guy” everyday by manipulating the market and squeezing company’s dry...

@kasiakitten Basically hedge funds short stocks which means they buy them, sell them off to bring the price down, then buy them back at the lower price and make money. Reddit noticed funds were doing this to GameStop so they drove the stock price up by buying it in bulk at $39 or do a share
