    A blockchain is a database - an expensive, slow, public, append-only database. 99% of use-cases you hear about "on the blockchain" just want a database. The recent Reddit announcement is a canonical example - only Reddit cares about your Reddit upvotes; they control it *anyway*.

    @Adobe no i dug through years old reddit posts instead and found someone with the same issue. they showed in 1 sentence how to remove this specific piece of shitware and that worked 100% with no unexpected impact to the software. thanks

    @The_WGD @parallaxoptics Back in the day people differentiated between big-A and little-a atheists. Now I guess they call big-A Atheists "reddit atheists", and I'm certainly not that. I also haven't had too much trouble finding spirituality without explicit acknowledgement of a deity.

    @inwardshed @steveklabnik Shouldn't that problem solve itself? If the Karma is trash, because bots on Reddit can create it automatically, the token associated with the Karma will probably be trash too 🤔
