@taeuphoria0613 dispute between Kakao which owns Melon streaming and Spotify. Kakao wants everyone to still use Melon in SK so took down all music it distributes to Spotify so they get an exclusive on the music basically, but means int fans get no access whatsoever 🥺

@catboyaak Spotify just launched in Korea and idk the details but bottom line is the biggest streaming service in Korea (melon) is from the same company that owns all these ******* so im guessing they made their artists exclusive to their platform bc they don’t wanna lose users to Spotify

@SpotifyCares 1 Not displaying what's playing, so no control over pausing, playing, skipping etc. 2 Randomly quits. I then have to go hunt down the media and where I was since it wasn't being displayed in the first place. 3. When app IS playing, only way to stop it is to quit app.

@akarihours @nugupromoter I just thought of something. I can use it for my kr playlists & use spotify for everything else, so that solves the problem, if there's an ad blocker / silencer & you can leave the app Most of the music is also on YouTube music except for some but that applied in reverse too so

i'm starting to think this is a habit of Kakao M. they did this with apple music too, and now with Spotify. fix your licensing issues and stop making artists and fans suffer.

@tuanyuian basically every artist that was on apple music is still there, but it’s not guaranteed forever since it’s a distribution issue :/ i think apple music should be safer bc it’s really spotify that’s been having issues w kakaom since they launched in south korea

I hope this Spotify issue gets resolved !! So many artists are affected, especially this year where a lot don't have any other source of revenue other than streaming because most concerts, events, festivals are canceled.
