Macie Jay (@MacieJay) reported@Kluke_Phoenix Hello Kluke, this ***** post was just my personal attempt at humor for the enjoyment of the Rainbow Six Siege community. It seems I've failed at that since your reply indicates a more literal interpretation, so allow me to elaborate. The foundation of this post relies on the understanding that community sentiment towards Ranked 2.0 was negative, stating that ranking up was too easy and allowed for any low level players to achieve the top rank, hence the all too common label, "fake champ". Fast forward to the current season and now we find community sentiment has changed to the grind being far too difficult, skilled or not. This is largely validated by the data indicating an abundance of Emeralds along with anecdotal evidence shared on X. Now this is where my intentions may have been lost; the grand humor is that we can ignore the current sentiment that there may be issues with this new system and maintain the old one instead. This creates an opportune moment to tease the community and myself as a whole! The expected outcome for all the fake champs in ranked 3.0 would be that they get hard stuck in a lower ranks like Emerald; however, ironically every single player, good or bad, is now meeting that exact fate instead! So with that, we can falsely state that everyone in the community was a "fake champ" this whole time! Now of course, it is generally understood that a proper rank system should never indicate that all players are mediocre (fake champs); therefore, the intentional disregard for the current sentiment towards Ranked 3.0 should've been apparent. I however understand full and well that dry humor like my own can often lead to misinterpretations regardless of how apparent the premise may be. Humans being social animals have a strong reliance on social cues. This of course is problematic for the internet due to the ambiguity or absence of social cues. What often occurs as in this case is that despite the logical pathways at hand the necessity for social cues supersede and override those logical pathways, leading to the misinterpretation of ***** posts like this one here. So in conclusion, I am aware that the data does not imply that everyone is a fake champ.
