Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is a first-person tactical shooter video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. Rainbow Six. Just Dance. One of the five largest game companies on the planet. This wasn't an investment. This wasn't a partnership. This wasn't backing somebody else's project. This was an IN-HOUSE web3 game. Built by the publisher's own Paris studio in collaboration with their Strategic Innovation Lab. Their first original blockchain title. The biggest AAA publisher to ever actually BUILD a web3 game from scratch. Launched October 23, 2024. PC only. Available through the publisher's own launcher. 75,000 collectible fighters. An open marketplace. Forging mechanics. Ranked seasons. VIP tiers. The full web3 playbook, executed by a studio that has shipped games to hundreds of millions of players. The game was compared to a well-known indie tactical RPG for its dark aesthetic. But comparisons don't generate players. The launch was quiet. Too quiet for a company that knows how to market games. May 2026: all blockchain features removed. Wallets frozen. Marketplace closed. Trading discontinued. The web3 game became a web2 game overnight. Today, July 30, 2026: the web2 version is also dying. Servers shutting down October 30. In-app purchases already disabled. First they removed the blockchain. Then they killed the game. Not even the version WITHOUT crypto could survive. The problem was never the blockchain. The problem was that nobody wanted to play it. And the conclusion, written in server shutdown notices and frozen wallets: even the largest game company in the world cannot force players to care about a web3 game they didn't ask for. The publisher that was supposed to legitimize blockchain gaming just buried its only original web3 title. The experiment is over. Which game is this?

    @J12Aurz @SpivvyFPS @XboxArchives I haven't touched Siege in years kiddo. I've got no interest in live service online-only slop. Show me your gameplay from Raven Shield or Black Arrow. Or any Rainbow Six game aside from Siege. I'll wait.

    @Rainbow6Game I’m playing siege on Xbox, using a controller. But it has me in PC lobbies because the game “detects keyboard and mouse”, and won’t let me change it. Anyone know how to fix, or who to reach out to?
