@yahoomail sent a DM account has been compromised and i need to get into it! Some how the number changed to a very old number i havent had since forever, and keeps saying my password is incorrect. Never changed my password. Why should I have to pay for your security issues???

Sky/Yahoo mail down. I guess the emails telling me I needed to update my mailbox or lose my account were genuine. Odd that it’s taken several years and not “in the next 48 hours” like they threatened.

@Han_Siebo @LefterisJP Imagine yahoomail banned your email account. You can make a new account anywhere (or make your own mail server). You can’t get banned from Mastodon the same way you can’t get banned from email.

@AmyShiraTeitel Email server, only instead of sending "usually kinda private messages" it exchanges intended for public micro-blogs. Live Mail? GMail? You mail with Comcast? Yahoo Mail? Do you prefer to use a particular mail app or just go with their website?

@yahoomail is a ******* joke. In 2019 my email got hacked and it caused a lot of problems such as causing my instagram account to become hacked. I could never recover the email because yahoo wants me to pay $5 just to talk to someone??

@erinwert @ashleylynch @laynemorgan I’m not on Mastodon or Hive but the crux of the issue seems to be that if I’m on Twitter, it is NOT like gmail. I can’t interact with friends on other social sites. The federated system (like Mastodon) you can. It’s like gmail can talk to yahoo mail.

@PoMo_Cowboy @lituainianach Execpt you can talk outside your silos - saying it's siloed is like saying email is siloed because not everyone uses Gmail. I can still use my Gmail account to talk to Yahoo mail users, I can even set up my own email server; the idea is the protocol, not the server.
