@dboysanie @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo To make it clear I'm not defending the trailer, I hated it. I just think there's a lot to keep in mind, and I happen to work in marketing so I can easily assume the thinking behind such a trailer at such an event.

@AminalMudder @PrimeVideo This isn't fix it's expanding it

@abhiaiden @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo Ikr, and whats even more annoying is that they could have easily just explored the other regions of Arda and that way you could have had minority representation without discracing the original work.

@witch_people @PrimeVideoDE @PrimeVideo From the ashes a fire shall be woken. A light from the shadows shall spring. Renewed shall be blade that was broken. The crownless again shall be king.

@LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo It looks fine, its done enough to get me interested. What's people's problem?

Moko

@youwaitedtables @wigzgaming @PrimeVideo So you think they would have the biggest budget ever, and make it a show that doesn´t really work? Cause for the majority of viewers they dont care if its true to what Tolkien wrote, they only want to be entertained

@I_am_Rabb @primevideouk @PrimeVideo Obviously not a fan of his work, otherwise you'd understand that a black elf makes zero sense in Tolkien's world.

@PrimeVideo The search tool is wildly off, always has been but I’m sick of it enough now to tell you to fix it because it’s a frikken mess. If I search for an actor, I don’t want suggestions for movies they were not in. I’m not looking for movies with their costars. 1/2

@primevideouk @PrimeVideo This looks awful. You’re going to ruin it aren’t you?
-
Supermaine
(@BustedNutz) reported
@PrimeVideo Should have let Netflix do it. This looks terrible, and very PG. We want a GoT style Middle-Earth.
-
Glarung
(@GlarungYedek) reported
@enzo_spagpost @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo If they want to do this, they should not use the name of Tolkien's work, it was Tolkien who created this universe and he drew its borders. They can create their own fantasy universe and place the characters they want.

@pikericky @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo God forbid any work of fiction reflects anything from the real world, right? Fortunately it’s not something that has ever happened before.

@robinmarriott @PrimeVideo @MotorTrendPlus New Faster with Finnegan, too. But yeah, it’s so messed up. It used to work like clockwork, so what has gone wrong?

@panaevsfriend @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo What even WAS this shot it told us nothing other than to expect lots of terrible cgi backgrounds

(@GodKennyPowers) reported
@PrimeVideo Never seen $1.5 billion wasted on such a lore cheek spreading mess. When the zealot "writers" said they were going to pillage Middle Earth by "modernising" it I was fearing the worst. Judging from this teaser they have done the modern trend of ruining classics.

@VanityFair @PrimeVideo well this is either gonna crash and burn or be the best show i have ever watched
-
Maksim Kovalev
(@MaksimKovalev17) reported
@kiwiclipse @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo I have zero problem with skin color, etc I have a problem that they need to rehash classics instead of creating something new I don't even plan to watch it so I highly doubt I'll like it.
-
A Tree Herder
(@Bliss_Hughes) reported
@w_fink @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo It’s new so I’m still messing with the settings: the color depth is at 65 (that was default) so I’ll probably put it to 50. But thank god I have all that motion smoothing and noise reduction and the artificial sharpening turned off because then it would literally look awful.

Ensus ඞ

@GlarungYedek @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo Bruh the original trilogy cuts like a good 30% of the books and y'all had no problem with them but adding non white characters is somehow crossing the line?
-
Nico-Yuri
(@Boromir_FR) reported
@Datboynamedtoy @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo It's harsh, i think overall the result is really solid and the show only release in 7 months ! I don't know if you watched WoT on Amazon but there you have some terrible CGI stuff

(@EmanuelCPinto) reported
@KenobiStig @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo I agree with you. However, it is not always that budget alone work wonders. There are series, not with a low budget, but lower in budget that are huge successes. As long as you're paying the wrong people... things won't turn out the way you expect
-
Michael Fowler
(@Michael99529028) reported
@primevideouk @PrimeVideo If it was “based on Tolkien’s” LotR, the bad comments could be brushed aside. Instead you took a loved fantasy world with a well established lore. Then thought let’s make it more like real life. Why try to fix something that isn’t broken?
-
Moko
(@Mokotototo) reported
@youwaitedtables @wigzgaming @PrimeVideo That only means no one can 100% accurately represent what Tolkien imagined, does that mean no one should ever use his work? Even though he clearly wished for people to do it?
-
Chris Figaro
(@thechrisfigaro) reported
@SaduzBR @blaz_man96 @PrimeVideo As long as the characters skin colour doesn't change the story. There really isn't any problem here. All this complaining seems to be coming from white fragility. Sit down.
-
Gary White
(@GaryWhiteDublin) reported
@Kerem94048630 @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo Honestly, that's the worst part about this. The soundtrack is every ultra-generic action movie trailer music. It sounds like it came from a stock CD from 2011.

@WorldsLastNight @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo Doesn’t even feel like Lord of the Rings to be honest. However it is very sad to watch one of the best stories/movie destroyed from a bunch of people with issues. They are representing them selves, not the majority.

@PrimeVideo "there's wonders in this world" there IS wonders in this world? seriously?? Tolkien would NEVER have written dialogue in such a modernized slang. instead, imagine if she said "there are wonders in this world", how much more like Tolkien that would instantly sound. awful show.

@ollyblum @majorsnuffy @PrimeVideo They should also try to find some evidence of elves having pointy ears in any of Tolkien's work. It's fantasy/fiction you can reimagine it any way you like.
