It has been clear for a long time that the showrunners don't give a **** about his work, and want to give it a "modern interpretation."

@OrangeHat2185 @LOTRonPrime @PrimeVideo Everyone who has screened it has had positive impressions. Nothing could be “akin to his work” it is one of a kind, the father of modern fantasy. No adaptation will awe like his books do, but I’m willing to give this a chance and I think the hate for it is misplaced.

@PrimeVideo Every Tolkien account supporting this is a disgrace. It's NOT an adaption. It's just a fabrication from some nobodies trying to be Tolkien and creating THEIR own story just out of a few things from Tolkien's work, which they also changed.
