  @NorthernAvenge @LibertyPrime77 @PrimeVideo He also doesn't explicitly state elves had pointy ears either - in the letter you referenced he was quoting the term elvish - meaning he was not necessarily referring to the elves in his own work but someone else's idea/work of elves. (otherwise why use quotations?)

  @NorthernAvenge @LibertyPrime77 @PrimeVideo I understand but I wasn't referring to your writing as problematic to understanding the letter, but rather how you ignore the fact that Tolkien deliberately wrapped 'elvish' in single quotes which he likely used to reference the term outside of his own work.
