Is Amazon Prime Instant Video down?

My internet and Wifi went out yesterday afternoon and they can't send someone out to fix to my country village until Saturday. 😪 Seriously limiting my entertainment! I have to use data on my phone too. I can watch my Dish channel lineup but no Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime Video.

The last few days Amazon video has had weird video-to-sound syncing problems and it's driving me crazy.

Even casting your computer screen while you're on amazon video makes it crash

You would think Amazon Prime Video have one of the best streaming catalogues (given it’s Amazon), but it’s one of the worst... and so old. Full of old titles

There are of course other options for rentals right now, but I'd imagine it won't be long until the problems I'm having with Amazon become more widespread. (incidentally, this is also why I'm apprehensive about the streaming future of video games.)

@WorkWombatman Still got Netflix 4K Guide button issues I see no new features yet, it would be nice if we was able to turn off notifications sounds when I'm watching Amazon the notifications still pop up & then the sound pops my ear drums I have the settings not to show during video mode

@hotstar_helps Video/content not loading on amazon firestick. Tried changing account but of no use. Updted app, workd for 2 hrs then again same issue. Can view all listings but not load video on press ok.Kindly help to fix asap.

Not user error as we are using the TV as we always have. Some films ratios are off. Anyone that knows Christipher Nolan movies knows they are 16:9 with the full screen..

Sorry but I disagree. I watch TennisTV on an Amazon Fire Stick and the picture quality and lack of freezing/buffering vs Prime Video showing the same match at the same time is night and day. So it’s nothing to do with my internet or device.

As we've always said, picture quality when streaming is often down to your internet connection and the device you use. Amazon don't put out poor quality video from their end.

@magicroundabout @Keiron For non-streaming video there are editing tricks that help mask it, but for live streaming you'd need better lighting. Perhaps studio lights (loads on Amazon) if you're getting into it.

@TalkTalk Amazon Video is causing problems. Won't even load, just buffers for a while then crashes out to TV. No difference after rebooting TV box. Other apps seem fine.

@TalkTalk No, I go into amazon prime video. It loads and then goes straight back to regular tv. It doesn’t load up in time to show an error message

@TheCyberdevil @who_fx One can buy the content via Amazon Instant video for the normal price. I watched Ark and I can't honestly say I noticed any improvement in picture quality although the sound did seem better. I did enjoy rewatching the Time Baker Years though.

@Morrellium I believe the discs are Region Free. The extra that's missing is the "Season 12 Times" documentary due to rights issues. Although you can buy the download version on Amazon Video for £2, so it's not too bad.

@sliceofscifi Every streaming or file based service Warner had control of ended in disaster. As it stands, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, CBS, and Disney/Fox is enough. HBO/MAX go are standalone but there is the hassle of going to HBO and create accnt/login plus it's another monthly $.

@Airtel_Presence Only your network speed is good and nothing else. You give Amazon prime video membership only on 299 recharge,not providing on higher recharge.While Jio not do this,If it had any offer it gives everyone. I use airtel only due to some issue.

Netflix is losing all Disney and Warner Bros. content. Their own content is forgettable which they spend billions on. They have a problem. Amazon video isn’t helping either.

@AmazonHelp Many, across devices. My Google Fu tells me it's a common problem with Amazon's video player. Vikings also had this issue for a couple of episodes but at least they don't have helmets in a lot of the time obscuring their mouths (not that my lipreading is good...)

Audio and video are the future (Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon Alexa etc.). If you are not good at it, then hire freelancers to help you! Lack of action is not an option. (Learned from Daniel Sennheiser, CEO Sennheiser #STARTSummit)

If you have Amazon prime you have access to prime video which means you can watch doukyuusei in high quality just as it deserves so now yall have NO excuses!!

@AmazonHelp @Erssie Same problem here. Samsung Smart TV and only the Amazon Prime TV app. All video is wrong aspect ratio. We can't watch anything. Trouble shooting tips did not help.

@Toon4Thought that makes sense. still unfortunate that this will be available on dvd only because you can already get higher quality on amazon video. but to be honest, it's good that they made a home media release at all.

So due to an error at @amazon my new video card that was supposed to be here yesterday is scheduled for Monday however the amazon rep I spoke to said it could be longer. I had planned on test streaming this weekend with it and my new stream deck but I guess that won’t happen.

@eisa962 Bought it a few months ago from the Japanese amazon, wish I had bought the Blu-ray instead honestly cause the difference in video quality was bigger than I thought x) But yeah, it's really worth buying for the 131 minutes of extra material imo!

Meanwhile, my stream is hanging periodically, because apparently Amazon Video cannot buffer the way Netflix or Hulu or god damn /YouTube/ can, sigh.

@carnageous7 @TherconJ Both Chrome(/Chromium) and Firefox have their advantages and disadvantages. Last time I tried it, Firefox was too CPU intensive. And my main issue nowadays with Chromium is just that Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are laggy for some reason.
