@justincooke182 @cogeco Curious as to why changing the DNS resolves the issue. Does it imply that the issue is not with the internet service, rather it's with Cogeco's DNS gateway? Or do you think they took down their DNS gateway to look into an issue with their service?

@constanzapool @cogeco No extra cost. Think of it like using Google's "phonebook" to translate addresses rather than Cogeco's. When the outage is resolved, I would switch it back to the previous state but there's also no harm in continuing to use Google's DNS servers (or any other DNS servers).

@cogeco Here's how to fix it on Mac: Settings > Network Click on Wi-Fi on the left. Click "Advanced..." on the bottom right. Click DNS at the top. Click the plus sign on the bottom left under "DNS Servers". Type 8.8.8.8 Do it again for 8.8.8.4 "OK" and "Apply"
