@howtofeelnothin @RedGamingTech It wasn't bought for Destiny, it was bought because Bungie has the knowledge and expertise in "Games as a service" which PlayStation is getting heavily into.. Bungie wants to get into Film/TV which Sony will help them with.. Its a strategic partnership.

@getonthestiix @AEGRO_84 I haven't touched destiny 2 in almost 3 years so I don't know but is destiny still pulling in that amount of revenue now? Imo Sony needs to have bungie make at least 1 new ip ps exclusive to fix their lack of a good mp title and to help justify that price tag

@_King_george_13 @totallynotretro @Sorren115 Bungie doesn't own halo 343 and Microsoft own it all bungie owns is destiny 1 and 2 and crash and spyro are now owned by Microsoft Sony never owned then they was just big games that helped build ps to what it is now

@ValiantPrudence @realAyitSevi Honestly a Marathon reboot would be cool. My only issue is that im worried it would just be destiny styled mp rpg fps game with a Marathon coat of paint. But that wouldn't work for Marathon unless they wanted to tell a different story. Marathon was very secluded and alone feeling

@StoooMarshall @dark1x Ofc those are massive franchises but honestly not even close as appealing for TV/Movie adaptation than Destiny. Zenimax had financial problems too so thats why the price was "low" compared to possibly a bit overpriced Bungie. As far as GaaS model Bungie is miles ahead of Zenimax.

What's the big deal about Sony buying Bungie? I couldn't care less, I never liked Destiny or Destiny 2. Unless they got new IPs in the works, because I do not like live service games, that try to make gaming feel like a job, because you gotta do task x and challenge x to unlock x

@MethodicalMemes They have another project in development besides destiny and these deals are for the long run in the generation not for next year or the year after that ...Bungie out of the gate when they started after MS made one of the most successful live service so don't doubt them

@Cyberbloke @TMFSunLion You're actually ludicrous if you think destiny is worth the same in bargaining as call of duty, spyro, crash, overwatch, WoW and more combined. Even then, destiny 2 is already out. Sure, they could make d3 exclusive but I see destiny 2 having a lot of life cycle left

@TheIshikawaRin People are saying that it's more about the live service knowledge but that's if it's. Aplaystation acquisition And most reports are saying it's a Sony acquisition, so it's probably so they can make Destiny TV series and or Movie franchise series

@totallynotretro @Omegawyrm76 Yeah it's not good for anyone, I don't take issue as much with SP games being exclusive, it's been happening for years way back to the Nintendo/Sega days. But I think the idea that huge MP IPs like Destiny and COD could be pulled from platforms is a terrible idea

Prediction: Playstation needs to compensate for the relative lack of content on its streaming service by offering films & TV shows of Playstation properties. Their offering can seem competitive if it's a multimedia pass. Destiny (and future Bungie IP) will play a part in that.

@AshtreyGaming Agreed. What I saw, though, is a bunch of people feeling *absolutely* obliged to say that Destiny 2 isn't a good game. While I have my issues w/ Bungie (sunsetting paid content and convoluted narration, for inst.), I think those reactions are quite telling...

@kidsmoove if destiny 2 makes close to 100-500$ mill a year off a games as service, they can recoup their purchase in less than 6-7 years, especially if they are getting into movies and animations

@GothGfGirlGame1 @Gleaux Broken in context to the rest of the sandbox is not the same as saying "Everything in destiny is broken because (insert thing that means destiny isn't a competitive game)" and doesn't make anyone feeling better getting shat on at 15m by a chap. But whatever makes you feel better.
