live service games are expensive and fans of looter games have high expectations for content. Nobody can do what Destiny did anymore where you can get by with a couple years of reskins or dead time between 1 year expansions. Anthem had no clue what it was in for

@Sarobi I honestly really hope so. I respect devs having a vision and being inspired by games like Destiny and D2, but it comes with so much baggage and probably the biggest gamble a studio could take right now. Live service prints disappointment more than it does money.

Final Fantasy is Square's biggest, longest standing and most vital franchise, it saved them from bankruptcy, it was too important to let 14 tarnish the franchise as badly as it did and not fix it. Anthem was a messy no-name destiny wannabe with a ****** publisher.

@Vahn16 i think a lot of publishers mistook destiny 1's narrative for "utterly unplayable game fixed itself and became super profitable." when the actual narrative was "launched with solid core game, roadmap, and fixed the broken mechanics to bring gameplay in line with core vision."

I am kind of bummed that Destiny is the monopoly in looter shooters right now. I don't like the state it is currently in and Bungie has no real reason to change/fix the problems I have with Destiny 2 since there aren't other looter shooters that rival it right now.

@LUCKYY10P Maybe people will respect bungie more for how they keep Destiny going. The effort it takes to produce and maintain a live service game for an independent studio. Probably not, people are pricks.

Also, people are complaining that they've been screwed over. They still had (& have) a game to play. But I guess if you're into Destiny type/live service games you expect the game to be supported for much longer.

@BungieHelp i thought that maintenance was supposed to fix the servers, not make them worse. ever since your maintenance i haven't been able to stay connected for a single game of anything, whether it bee the raid or even a simple crucible match, i keep getting error code beaver.

And though Destiny suffered a rough launch, it had the benefit of being 'the game' Bungie could throw all of its weight behind to fix. Bioware can't do that. And Anthem suffered a lack of direction, technical hurdles, and management fumbles that doomed it from the start.

@BungieHelp This is so frustrating now. SABER STRIKE IS BROKEN. "Reach the Coordinates" very start is broken. Way point makes you go back. Nothing at start with the warming sat. Go inside but nothing happens. Got 1 run first time. But at end killed us all sent back to start. No completion
