Google Nest Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • ChrisGreenfield Chris Greenfield (@ChrisGreenfield) reported

@googlenest Thanks for getting back to me. I can stream the camera fine on my nest hub however after 5 minutes the stream stops. I had Arlo cameras before which had this issue and replaced them with Eufys and am experiencing the same issue indicating it’s a Google side issue. Please advise

  • D_Cas17 Dennis Casasnovas (@D_Cas17) reported

@googlenesthelp The protective film was removed camera quality is a little blurry. And it still says offline now.

  • Dabayarea650 Hector (@Dabayarea650) reported

@googlenesthelp And issue still persists, i contacted google Nest support via Twitter to report issue on May 17th 2020, attaching video clip of issue, issue was acknowledged and a fix was assured in the coming months, issue is still present to this day, i have old coversation saved

  • Benny39726570 Benny (@Benny39726570) reported

@googlenesthelp my doorbell still showing offline in the nest app and the green status light is blinking like crazy. Any idea if you had fixed the issue at your end?

  • MicahGregorio Micah Gregorio (@MicahGregorio) reported

@googlenesthelp Thanks! I still have this issue. It seems separate from the camera issue since it’s been occurring since roughly Friday or Saturday for multiple users. Resetting impacted devices to factory settings temporarily resolves the issue but the devices ultimately go back offline again.

  • hunter022705 M (@hunter022705) reported

@googlenesthelp I find it hard to believe that a several months-long issue was fixed within hours. Camera is still offline and constantly disconnecting. The problem is not fixed.

  • bonchnass L (@bonchnass) reported

@googlenesthelp issue. Now I have to remove all my mounts and start fresh because I didn’t get an email either, couldnt get phone customer service, and not everyone knows to check twitter

  • mogarchy Michael Mogren (@mogarchy) reported

@googlenest You can help by providing the option for a local stream/api to the cameras so that we are not left in the dark when your service fails, as it often does. Google used to stand for open, non-propriety platforms. How times have sadly changed...

  • D_Cas17 Dennis Casasnovas (@D_Cas17) reported

@googlenesthelp Nest hello has been installed little less than 2 years I believe. Started peeling in April not it just looks absolutely horrible and it’s still not working.

  • FrankEvington Evington Frank (@FrankEvington) reported

@googlenest why are our cameras down?

  • bryandwvu Bryan D (@bryandwvu) reported

@googlenesthelp All of my camera are down. I haven’t had them all online since late evening yesterday.

  • AndrewNay Andrew Nay (@AndrewNay) reported

@googlenest @BaeckerX1 After hearing that the outage was over I tried to add it to my account and it worked. My camera now up and running.

  • JohnHorton1983 john horton (@JohnHorton1983) reported

@googlenesthelp I have had endless issues since migrating to GoogleNest, even scrolling through the camera footage is really slow and clunky. Unless it improves I won’t be renewing my subscription and I’ll be selling them all.

  • titanictexan Lady Kaylie (@titanictexan) reported from Amarillo, Texas

@steve_______ @googlenesthelp I, too, did that 😭😭😱 It came back on for several minutes but looks like it's down again

  • fcgokbayrak Charlie (Çağrı) Gökbayrak (@fcgokbayrak) reported

I had a Nest Aware subscription for my Nest Outdoor and then i purchased Nest Doorbell with 6 months free aware service and Nest outdoor IQ. The result is: only nest doorbell do face recognition. Why i purchased Nest IQ then @googlenesthelp @googlenest Bad subscription management

  • CodyMcMerkle Cody Merkle (@CodyMcMerkle) reported

@googlenest I have a google nest mini and have been having problems for the past 6-8 months now with it disconnecting from my wifi (it being the only thing that disconnects) also now for some reason I can't communicate with my best mini, I tried a few troubleshooting steps online but no help

  • Dabayarea650 Hector (@Dabayarea650) reported

@googlenesthelp Camera was bought March 14th 2020 and installed April 4th, did not notice issue until a month later, when a person walked up to my driveway at 2 am. Camera has been reset, removed from the my Google home, removed from my wifi network, and even moved camera location.

  • ItsPeterrr Peter (@ItsPeterrr) reported

@googlenesthelp I’ve actually had problems with nest WiFi so I am guessing it was somehow related. First time I’ve ever had a problem with it.

  • MicahGregorio Micah Gregorio (@MicahGregorio) reported

@googlenesthelp That also worked temporarily. The devices show as offline once again, though.

  • CodyMcMerkle Cody Merkle (@CodyMcMerkle) reported

@googlenest And again, it's the only device that'll disconnect randomly, I was kinda guessing a frequency issue because I have other devices on wifi but was unsure because then there's no use for it in my room then if I gotta move it closer

  • september29th Rolando Agado (@september29th) reported from San Antonio, Texas

@googlenesthelp Well it’s screwed onto the front door and it hasn’t had an issue with its signal proximity in 3 years

  • CathyFitz52 Cathy Fitzgerald (@CathyFitz52) reported

@googlenesthelp Are you aware of the issue with your Google nest thermostat ? I have been waiting since September 17 for my advance replacement. It must be a serious issue.

  • Dabayarea650 Hector (@Dabayarea650) reported

@googlenesthelp How about fixing the motion blur issue that happens in night vision or low light for the outdoor IQ nest camera, it’s been 9 months and no fix

  • D_Cas17 Dennis Casasnovas (@D_Cas17) reported

@googlenesthelp My nest hello looks horrible it’s peeling and now it also doesn’t work went offline around 7:40 tried resetting it multiple times and no luck!

  • raushel Mario Raushel (@raushel) reported

@googlenesthelp Have restarted the guard(5) and then factory reset all detects / Yale Locks. The reset / repair worked for about a day, but now 3/4 detects and 1/2 locks are showing offline again. Issue started popping on Friday night and seen a few posts on /r/nest as well. Guard online OK.

  • TheGrumpasaurus The Chumpasaurus (@TheGrumpasaurus) reported

@googlenest No. I'm done with them. How can I have a device in the house that can give me the "something went wrong" garbage at any moment? Should've gone for Amazon Echo devices...

  • TomDents Tom Denton (@TomDents) reported

@googlenesthelp Hi, I'm a nest user and after migrating my account I can no longer sync my thermostat with the home app or mini. It's also unhooked my Chromecast audio. Seems to be a common issue? A little help please..

  • N0SSC Sterling Mann (@N0SSC) reported

@googlenest it just BLOWS my mind that a networked device I own and subscribe to goes completely inoperable JUST because it can’t phone home. Give me RTSP or a stream I can access and record LOCALLY so when **** hits the fan at Google I can rest assured that I still have eyes on my domain.

  • Shepless Shep (@Shepless) reported

@googlenesthelp i came home from work yesterday and all 6 of my Google home's were responding "something went wrong" or "there's been a glitch". WiFi isn't the issue. I factory reset one home as a test and now that device cannot complete setup. Issue your end? Down for over 12hrs

  • BaeckerX1 Brandon Baecker (@BaeckerX1) reported

@googlenest Actually Google it wasn't my router. Once you fixed your end I was able to reconnect it. Spent about 2 hours troubleshooting the camera on my end due to an outage you didn't notify your customers about. Thanks.
