@googlenesthelp I’ve already removed the base as the short was causing issues with my other thermostats. No errors but the battery drained and WiFi turned off which alerted me to the issue, was also short cycling the AC. I swapped the base from another thermostat to confirm it was the base.

@googlenesthelp I had an issue with a Nest Thermostat 3rd gen base after a thunderstorm where the base was shorting out on the C wire causing the temp of the wire to rise on that thermostat and others on the same AC controller. Curious is engineering has seen this before.

@googlenesthelp I am in India and I know you folks don’t support nest WiFi even though I got it from us. Also it was working fine till the recent firmware update .. everything was screwed by the update.. instead of looking what’s the issue with firmware you are telling to check with isp.

@googlenesthelp Thanks for prompt reply, I got it back online by removing it and re-adding, my real issue is I didn’t know it was offline for 2 days, just happened to check the app. Can’t see a way to turn notifications on to tell me if it’s offline again

Hey @googlenesthelp I spent weeks emailing support only for them to confirm that my Nest Guard is broken but say that it's out of warranty and won't be replaced, despite it being less than two years old. Several hundred dollars of home security devices are entirely useless now.

I love home automation, everything in my home happens pretty much on it's own. The sole device that fails me is the @googlenest thermostat. No API access, and now a completely broken AI/learning system. It's July and it still doesn't have a schedule learned for AC.
