  • cpaccillo Christine Terranova (@cpaccillo) reported

@HouseofDragon @hbomax Why is it so DARK??? Please fix this for season 2. I have to turn off every light in my house to watch it.

  • mmoffitt55 Michael Moffitt (@mmoffitt55) reported

@hbomax the app continues to restart without playing the latest episode of GOT House of the Dragon. Other shows play fine. Help! 😳

  • marcops24 marko (@marcops24) reported

@HBOMaxHelp Please fix the app on xbox !!

  • marcops24 marko (@marcops24) reported

@puffyplums @hbomax Same problem :/ i cant see the last episode of house of the dragon

  • FitzAusTex F!tz (@FitzAusTex) reported

@HBOMaxHelp #HOTD #houseofthedragon Bad decision. Dark is one thing, being unable to tell what the heck is happening is a whole nother level of hell we don't need. TERRIBLE in GoT S8E3, & BAD in HotD S1E7. Do better. Don't let these "creative decisions" continue. Do better @HBO.

  • FriedToast Michael M. (@FriedToast) reported

@zephyr757 @hbomax I didn't have any issues watching, so was surprised to see this as news. There were dark scenes, yes, but I could still see everything. Didn't seem remotely as dark as the scenes from GoT that caused outrage. You need to apologize to yourself for a crap viewing situation.

  • BotJacco Jacco Bot (@BotJacco) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @CVIKIS Intentionally dark sounds like you didn’t have enough budget for costuming and make-up and this wat you don’t need any. Creative decisions are great, but for a tv show to work, the audience needs to be able to follow along.

  • matuna Matuna (@matuna) reported

    @HBOMaxHelp @emilyaluce terrible decision

  • WesleyWolanski Wesley Wolanski (@WesleyWolanski) reported

@zephyr757 @hbomax No, either the quality of your TV is ridiculous or the lighting in your room was too bright. Zero issues seeing anything with a decent TV and the lights off.

  • abbasbashir Abbas Bashir 🇵🇰🇵🇸 (@abbasbashir) reported

    @HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 Worst decision making #vomiting 🤢

  • cpdambrosia Chris (@cpdambrosia) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 Thanks @HBOMaxHelp ,but that was a poor decision. It’s just looks terrible and is NOT AT ALL enjoyable to watch like that. It’s so bad, it’s distracting.

  • Azerox050 Azerox (@Azerox050) reported

@hbomax When are you hiring decent developers to fix your app for smart TVs? Im just amazed its even worse then Prime. So sad. Might cancel my sub because of it. #hbomax #lgtv

  • libertymama1314 Tracy (@libertymama1314) reported

@hbomax why are your subtitles on HOD so minuscule? Anything spoken in a foreign language is unreadable. Netflix and Hulu don’t have this problem.

  • TinaAKAMonkey Tina Dubya 🌈 (@TinaAKAMonkey) reported

@zephyr757 @hbomax I'm glad I've heard about the problems before wasting my time watching this. It's pretentious to say bad lighting was a artistic choice. Chris Nolan also does this with sound mixing. It's a **** move.

  • Jeff_Sibelius Jeff Sibelius Drones (@Jeff_Sibelius) reported

@HBOMaxHelp I'm about to quit #HouseOfTheDragon. The series is just too dark to see, even after adjusting TV, lights, blocking windows. The series has really been awful in this regard, but episode 7 has me ready to quit. This is not creative video - this is an audio book.

  • CameronK729 Cameron (@CameronK729) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 Hey idk. Maybe Miguel's creative decisions aren't a good fit for everyone seeing as this is the 2nd time its been an issue? Might not compare as well on a big screen as he thinks it'd be compared to a phone, tablet, or TV.

  • NCNastyWoman NC Nasty Woman🌈🌊💜💙 (@NCNastyWoman) reported

@hbomax please fix you app. I’m tired of having to constantly reboot.

  • JakeHun60157763 Jake Hunter (@JakeHun60157763) reported

@hbomax Hey, what’s up, there are some scenes which I can’t see. Is there something wrong with HBO today? I guess I’ll call Xfinity to see if there’s an outage of some sort.

  • RetoruPwnz Jason (@RetoruPwnz) reported

@zephyr757 @hbomax I had no issue seeing it. You should apologize to yourself for having a crappy TV. With a proper HDR tv the episode was just fine

  • bryanmward Bryan Matthew Ward (@bryanmward) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 Terrible creative decision. Not just the dimming, but the lack of contrast makes it difficult to see anything that is going on. Saying that it is a creative decision is a poor excuse. Dimming the lighting is one thing, but you couldn't see hardly anything.

  • marcellorio Marcello Pessanha (@marcellorio) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 It's freaking fiction and VISUAL arts. We know it's night, we know it's dark, we just have to be able to SEE things. In real life it would be pitch black or a little worse than it was in the episode, considering the full moon, so what's the point? Same problem as in GoT.

  • AdamFPowers Adam Powers (@AdamFPowers) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @CallSignWhisker That was an awful decision

  • MusicAndTruth MusicAndTruth (@MusicAndTruth) reported

@khyronson @HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 I have a new top of the line tv and couldn't see ****. In fact im here right now cuz I went to Google "house of dragons too dark to see," completely clueless that others had same problem. I had no idea this was "a thing." I thought somethin was wrong. My TV ain't the issue.

  • wadeco Wade Cosgrove (@wadeco) reported

@HBOMaxHelp The only steps are delete and reinstall? I am seeing this issue on multiple devices using an IR remote (non Siri).

  • DonaldMBraden Donald M Braden (@DonaldMBraden) reported from Blacklick Estates, Ohio

@robya777 @HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 This is part of the problem. They went from location shooting on GoT to green screening just about everything.

  • Synodica Synodica (@Synodica) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 Had no issues with the lighting whatsoever. I agree with the idea that people are idiots and can't stand things not being explicit. Ironically, I'm having more trouble with the moral greyness, tbh. ha! But I think that's intended too.

  • jmx2223 MA Top (@jmx2223) reported

@HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 I agree everyone who said it was too dark needs a new/better tv ha. I have a 55" TCL smart tv and the picture was clear throughout the whole episode so it's most likely a tv issue.

@beccastanz @hbomax I turned my laptop brightness all the way up, pulled down all the blinds in the studio, and hid under my work sweater but it didn’t even help 😭 What is the purpose??!!

  • Synodica Synodica (@Synodica) reported

@BigGulp1896 @HBOMaxHelp @zephyr757 Ha, except it's true. The American audience, let's just say it, ARE idiots. I watched it and had no issues. And you'll watch it anyway, so get off the internet.
