@RogersHelps I was told there wouldn't be another outage... Now I completely regret signing my work phone with @FidoSolutions recently. Luckily my personal phone's contract ended. So time to look for another carrier that isn't an absolute **** show.

@atoonk @Rogers Two, install max-prefix filters on peers. Set them to be fairly permissive, but to catch the downstream idiot who decides to disaggregate the DFZ to /24s before spraying it at you. Also set them to protect 'fragile' kit that shouldn't see scads of routes 4/

@atoonk @Rogers Thank's for the distil, @atoonk. I apologize in advance if this sounds like "back when I was doing this" - because it is exactly that. Two, none of us were on what was obviously an outage bridge from hell, so this is all supposition. With that said, some thoughts 1/

@cmakcpa @RogersHelps Seriously though, if you drastically needed to call 911 for a personal medical emergency I doubt that would have crossed one's mind, and if it did, it may not have been possible to do this in the midst of a stroke or heart attack. #rogersoutage

@atoonk @Rogers You are right, fiddling your route filters manually will eventually bite, and usually bite hard. The solution is to not do that manually. Use the IRDB tools (or local variants) to generate the filters automatically and audit and test the heck out of the mechanism. 2/
