@clueless_1337 Actually, those are Roku's numbers but it's worse for smaller startups. Many VC deals required them to bank with SVB. I don't think 100k people should lose their jobs when there's an easy fix. We piss away far more money on Ukraine and other Welfare programs.

@RJ5400 @dmunjal @DavidSacks So silly, Roku (just one example) had $500 million (25% of their corporate cash balance) at SVB. By your (uninformed) logic they should have maintained 8000 separate accounts. This doesn’t even begin to address more complex issues like how to fund payroll (ie. central account).

@ashonzay_7 Not having your money insured beyond 250k is a reality for many if you park more than the 250k in one spot. roku 26% of cash reserves with SVB. That’s why this becomes a bigger issue for govt. If they don’t step in more small banks will have depositors cashing out to avoid this.

Based on their cash flows, collateral they can put up (get VCs to pony up more cash), and personal guarantees for SMBs but asset backed guarantees for the Roku types like the rest of Main Street. While I feel terrible about the depositors, it begs the question

@BobEUnlimited Here is a proposal - 100% coverage up to $2M to help small businesses. 97% coverage up to $10M, above that let the chips fall where they may. Solves the issue for small businesses trying to make payroll. Companies like Roku should have known better

@CordCuttersNews Well, they should have had a better internal financial game plan. They already told employees not to worry about anything and said they can keep funding stuff for the next year or so which in my experience says they’re in trouble. Roku got lazy. They might be done.

@YouTubeTV isn't showing the #XFL game. I sent feedback in the Roku app, here's how: Select the game on FX, press down like you're attempting to select aspect ratio/quality but go all the way to the left submenu, select "Send Feedback" (by nerd stats) -> "Program doesn't match".

@TeamYouTube Thanks very much for the quick reply. I do appreciate it. But... Watching on a Roku, and that advice does not help get rid of the scores. But, why do you do it in the first place? If I'm watching live, I know the score. If I'm watching a replay, I don't want to know the score.
