My laptop battery and Roku device (living room) were fried by the electric surges. It's like a hydro building in here now with hollow floor. Head pounding daily. Google has been patching my 4a since I got it on Monday (only on LTE). So many issues I've been documenting here.

@film_girl so I got annoyed waiting months for Roku to support HBO+, and now they're dropping SpectrumTV app support. do you know if FireTV (Apple TV probably does) avoids the problems that Roku's business model causes? (currently have Roku everywhere)

@jbogard It does for the most part, tho Amazon has its own issues of course (tho so does Apple TV, which didn’t have Amazon support for years and doesn’t have play movies support). Amazon loves to prioritize its own stuff (Apple does too), but I generally prefer it to Roku.

@SkyHelpTeam Pointless you always tell me it’s fine and showing ok and it’s a problem my end yet I can watch the same shows fine on the roku so I’ve pretty much given up on sky demand or apps! I’m out the second my contract ends.

@film_girl …and i've been buying shitty chinese TV boxes for fun. they have crazy remotes that work with any FireTV/GoogleTV box with USB. …and i was thinking about buying a Roku box just…because? compare and contrast is my best excuse. please talk me out of it. i might have a problem.

@VIZIOsupport The response time on the remote is about 4-6 seconds when moving, navigating, typing etc. Your Smartcast OS is top tier garbage. Went to the store and picked up a Roku stick. Zero issues now. Perhaps work on a better experience?

So we switched from the Roku over to the tv which was playing an episode of STar Trek: DS9, and Gul Dukat was onscreen being his usual terrible self. I, naturally, wanted to express how much I hate him, so fresh off of two episodes of Letterkenny I yelled "GIVE YOUR ***** A TUG!"

@AMCPlus The AMC team needs to fix its "AMC Premiere" steaming app. I've now used it on Roku and Apple TV & it's horrible...by far the worst streaming app out there. But I'm stuck paying $4.99 a month until I'm finished with Mad Men and then I'm CANCELING!

@jsnell Which is fine. But using the content matching as an example, on Apple TV, I can specify which frame rates work with my TV and test them one by one to confirm that they work. On Roku, it’s an on-off option that they warn on their website may cause stuttering on some frame rates.

@howiedewit @Roku @RokuSupport They got back to me pretty quick with a fix. Unplug the TV from the wall, wait 15 seconds and then plug it back in. It worked for me, hope it works for you.
