Peter Jones (@Peter_B_Jones) reported@Roku after being a long time customer for over 15 years and bought over 15 devices from you, the best you can offer is 30% off when one of your most expensive devices stops working because of a hardware issue?!?! Not to mention terrible customer support!!!

Matthew Keys (@MatthewKeysLive) reportedThe biggest problem with our @Roku TV: It's not earning the company any money because it is stuck in an unfixable boot loop. I bought this TV at Best Buy three years ago. It was for an elderly family member. She loved it. Until she didn't. As I was packing for the StreamTV Show last month, she called me to say her TV kept rebooting itself. "It's stuck on the spaceship thing," she said. I had no idea what that meant. I gave her my Sony TV to use while I tried to fix the problem. And let me tell you something, I have tried literally everything. I searched online for a fix, and found a number of Roku TV users who have encountered the same thing: For no reason, their TVs just randomly started boot looping, and trying to download and reinstall the firmware through Recovery Mode was no help. Some people suggested holding down the reset and power buttons for a certain length of time. That didn't work. Others suggested draining "zombie power" by pressing the power button for a half-minute while the TV is unplugged. That didn't work. A few said connecting to a mobile hotspot while in recovery might work. It didn't. One person suggested hooking the TV into a router via Ethernet. Well, this TV doesn't have an Ethernet port. This is the second Roku-powered TV that has caused us an issue. The first was a Walmart Onn-branded TV that died after six months. I figured one of Roku's own TVs was a reliable replacement, because the company told us as much when it started making its own TVs a few years ago. Then, executives promised that shipping Roku TVs where the company controlled the entire supply chain would help it make better-informed decisions about how its users were interacting with their devices, which would lead to better hardware and software experiences. Ultimately, our issue likely boils down to this: Roku uses cheap hardware in its smart TVs and streaming boxes to keep costs low. Executives said as much earlier this year when they affirmed that the ongoing processor and RAM shortage was likely to be a boon for Roku's business, because the company's operating system doesn't require premium hardware to operate. But the decision to use cheap hardware also means that it is more prone to breaking, and that is a major problem for a company like Roku. The company's $1.1 billion platform business is inherently dependent on consumers having reliable hardware that allows them to interact with said platform. When streaming devices and smart TVs break, it not only prevents customers from using their platform, it leaves a sour taste in their mouths — and customers are prone to abandoning the platform for a competitor. Which, in my family member's home, is now what has happened. She's inherited my six-year-old Sony TV, and she loves it. She's not giving it back. It runs Android. There's a bit of a learning curve, but she's committed to figuring it out. "I'm done with Roku," she told me. "I hope Fox knows what they're buying." $ROKU

KrisNVnmiP (@SophieMae1022) reported@red_chem_lite @Roku Try the bitter apple spray, it really deters some dogs from chewing specific items. A little of it rubbed on the remote might work. Also have you tried the ultrasonic sound deterrent? That stopped our dogs from bad behaviors. If you see them going near the remote press it. After a few times they should associate the remote with that unpleasant sound (that only they can hear!) Good luck

Bob Rickert (@bobrickert) reportedTaking out the remainder of my Amazon Fire Cube controllers @amazon I have 3 and I thought they would all work well. Tried one Roku Stick and it is a much better experience. Too much advertising and useless stuff on Fire Cube plus it never really worked that well with You Tube TV. @Roku

HomoConBear (@HomoConBear) reportedI see that @Roku did some post-audio work and looped over the F-Bomb in their promo.

Ryan Paredez (@RyanParedez) reported@foxone @Roku the foxone app runs bad on the roku. Constant errors. Error:PL--28

Isabella Valentine (@PrismaticOwl) reportedI generally just let the @Roku screensavers scroll while I do other stuff, but I think it got an update recently because the Roku City screensaver just flat does not work anymore. It's a black screen. Back button doesn't work. Gotta use the Home button to return to the menu.

Heather Larson 955,703 (@WriterHeatherL) reported@SaThomas__ I get it with every “smart” tv. Roku, Google, the Amazon thing… they all stink. Same class. All annoying. @Roku is no different to me. I had no problems with OTA tv, js

trapuh (@trapuh) reported@Roku Problem started July 5th I’ve tried everything, sound still works but tv screen is still like the picture above, I’ve seen on Reddit that your tvs do this to plenty of people i don’t think anybody has a fix for it yet

-
Lonell Fletcher III (@iii_lonell) reported@Roku fix your live tv displays. It shouldn’t be so hard to list what’s being shown when it’s supposed to be in constant rotation. I’m sick of seeing NO DATA AVAILABLE

Brian Richards 🕔 (@CptCracker) reported@thatoneguychaz @FOXSoccer @Roku Fox One is a hot mess. They seem to have blown it on capacity planning. A Grok survey of complaints confirms the issues are multi platform. Roku has a 100 million user base so they are going to get mentioned more than others, but it's cross platform. If there's something roku can do to help fix thst would be great though. The games on Fox over the air have worked just fine. This is when having a $40 Walmart antenna or even better a Tablo antenna tuner/dvr is helpful. The problem is they seem to have 37 games scheduled for streaming only.

🇺🇸 Save Tina 🇺🇸 (@MissingReagan) reported@BioMathJason @Roku @TCL_Global Yes, that's the way it is supposed to work, and has worked for the 5 years I've owned this tv. TCL did an update the early part of this year that removed the ability to watch OTA without internet. They did send a fix for most customers after the backlash, but many are still twisting in the wind. Their LiveTv is the culprit.

Niitefalls (@Niitefalls) reported@Roku AI bot trying to fix problems. lol

Heather D. ♿ (@EarperMarine) reported@zfatcat2 @Roku I have seen other people mention issues with captions. It's only happening when using Roku and it's the same across my various Roku apps. 🙃

Stacey (@Nerd4915) reported@Roku The new Home Screen is terrible. I had everything set up exactly how I wanted it, in the order that I wanted it, and now I can’t change it back. Go back to the old Home Screen. Clearly the comments here, like mine, do not support this change. Listen to your customers.

mmmhmmm (@bleezy_db) reported@Roku Please fix the home screen. At least make it to to where we can land on the screen that allows us to see all of our apps on one page.
-
Brett Bear (@MikeyBoom32) reported@Roku Roku tells you force restart, unplug and do the secret remote cache restart. None of it works because the new software sucks. If your lucky enough to not have a bricked tv you are left with just horrible service. FIX THE SOFTWARE UPDATE.Hopefully Fox will rethink the purchase
-
Joe Kimray (@JoeKimray) reportedWow - this new @Roku Home Screen update they forced on everyone is one of the worst technology “upgrades” ever. Lost the ability to customize the Home Screen - and they added a lot of apps no one wants, that you can’t remove. Horrible decision - the customer is always last…
-
Nomadic Aaron ✝️ (@AaronWL42) reported@Hisense_USA So I call Hisense and they were helpful but didn't fix the problem. They referred me to @Roku support. After a brief time on the phone with them the issue was corrected. Both were helpful which frankly is surprising these days.
-
Rob Ables (@rables73) reported@Roku Hi @Roku thanks but as I stated in the original post, it does it on all 4 of my Roku devices, so it is not a restart issue. Also, it is only the @MLB app. None of my other apps have this issue or other buffering. The MLB app does it multiple times per game and gets stuck.

Chris Miel (@Chris1John3) reported@Roku is not working this morning. Looks like it got hacked ? Anyone else ?

Bill Foody (@CnsmrsFightBack) reported@Roku dipshits, your new "backdrops" screensaver doesn't work. It just hangs on the splashscreen on Roku TV #incompetent
