@Roku Trying to get ahold of Support on Roku is impossible anymore They have a chat section that doesn't work when pressed, I canceled my trial offer and still get charged for a month's worth! I think I'm going to have to end Roku now

@Roku The new Home Screen is terrible. I had everything set up exactly how I wanted it, in the order that I wanted it, and now I can’t change it back. Go back to the old Home Screen. Clearly the comments here, like mine, do not support this change. Listen to your customers.

@Roku please bring back the other Home Screen. This new one is awful. Thanks

The biggest problem with our @Roku TV: It's not earning the company any money because it is stuck in an unfixable boot loop. I bought this TV at Best Buy three years ago. It was for an elderly family member. She loved it. Until she didn't. As I was packing for the StreamTV Show last month, she called me to say her TV kept rebooting itself. "It's stuck on the spaceship thing," she said. I had no idea what that meant. I gave her my Sony TV to use while I tried to fix the problem. And let me tell you something, I have tried literally everything. I searched online for a fix, and found a number of Roku TV users who have encountered the same thing: For no reason, their TVs just randomly started boot looping, and trying to download and reinstall the firmware through Recovery Mode was no help. Some people suggested holding down the reset and power buttons for a certain length of time. That didn't work. Others suggested draining "zombie power" by pressing the power button for a half-minute while the TV is unplugged. That didn't work. A few said connecting to a mobile hotspot while in recovery might work. It didn't. One person suggested hooking the TV into a router via Ethernet. Well, this TV doesn't have an Ethernet port. This is the second Roku-powered TV that has caused us an issue. The first was a Walmart Onn-branded TV that died after six months. I figured one of Roku's own TVs was a reliable replacement, because the company told us as much when it started making its own TVs a few years ago. Then, executives promised that shipping Roku TVs where the company controlled the entire supply chain would help it make better-informed decisions about how its users were interacting with their devices, which would lead to better hardware and software experiences. Ultimately, our issue likely boils down to this: Roku uses cheap hardware in its smart TVs and streaming boxes to keep costs low. Executives said as much earlier this year when they affirmed that the ongoing processor and RAM shortage was likely to be a boon for Roku's business, because the company's operating system doesn't require premium hardware to operate. But the decision to use cheap hardware also means that it is more prone to breaking, and that is a major problem for a company like Roku. The company's $1.1 billion platform business is inherently dependent on consumers having reliable hardware that allows them to interact with said platform. When streaming devices and smart TVs break, it not only prevents customers from using their platform, it leaves a sour taste in their mouths — and customers are prone to abandoning the platform for a competitor. Which, in my family member's home, is now what has happened. She's inherited my six-year-old Sony TV, and she loves it. She's not giving it back. It runs Android. There's a bit of a learning curve, but she's committed to figuring it out. "I'm done with Roku," she told me. "I hope Fox knows what they're buying." $ROKU

It took until July for me to get this “New” Roku Home Screen and it is awful. And reading the comments since @Roku rolled it out seems it has been awful for a month now. A two year could have done better. Reverse this ****.

@Roku just got home from work, sat down to watch the game on Peacock. But guess what. Your stupid widget had the France Spain score displayed. One of the last few world cup matches left to watch and your stupid home screen ruined it for me🤬🤬🤬🤬

@KirkYuhnke @MatthewKeysLive @Roku Our dumb TV is 10+ years old — biggest issue we’ve ever had: a volume button is a little touchy. We’ve swapped out smart tech multiple times, always on sale. Likely saved us a crazy amount of $$$ in a decade-plus.

  • ultramantis7

@Roku FoxOne on the Roku Channel does not work; Fox apparently cannot stream the games to Roku. It isn't Roku's fault, but why am I paying $20 a month?

@tacooghost @Roku Well, they still never fixed it. It's a problem with the Roku TV version, I'm pretty sure. I went & got the free trial at Amazon video & it is on there! Yay!

@tacooghost @Roku I've seen where others have watched the episode already. I was thinking it was a problem with the subscription through Roku TV that was the problem.

@red_chem_lite @Roku You need a zapper for when they touch it, they will learn which. Our friends have two boxers that were like this and within the week they were broken.

@Roku you guys and whoever you have working over there are awful for releasing a tv software update and taking away home screen customization. I have a tv imput that i’m not using anymore (HDMI 2) and I can’t delete or hide it like we used to be able to. 😤🙄

Ok @Roku I’m trying to watch Fracture on my Roku TV Channel and you have a perverse glitch that when I try to rewind for a short time, it sends me back to the first few minutes of the movie and when I try to get back to the spot, it makes me watch all the ads again. WTAF.

@RaceCanada_ca @TSN_Sports @Roku (realistically, I'm guessing there was some kind of error and one that was actually expertly quickly fixed... but still, that damn near made my heart stop)

  • ojkoj
    🌪Jeff Schipull🦌 (@ojkoj) reported

@Roku And like… if i reset the tv itll work sometimes, but its a big hassle, and after troubleshooting it appears to be a software issue with the update.

  • Ritentune
    Ritentune (@Ritentune) reported

@Roku If you are experiencing some issues using TABLO, try hiding “Quick Access” and “Recommended Rows”. Both mess with the cache and sticking with the basic display seems to work much better. Trying to mess around with AI sometimes causes more problems than anything else!

  • mrhappybw
    Bryan Wayne (@mrhappybw) reported

So @Roku just not going to address the issue they cause on the TCL and I assuming other TV’s with that horrible update or fix it? I am tired of having to reset things to get i to recognize the HDMI ports or them not be corrupted every day since.

Wow - this new @Roku Home Screen update they forced on everyone is one of the worst technology “upgrades” ever. Lost the ability to customize the Home Screen - and they added a lot of apps no one wants, that you can’t remove. Horrible decision - the customer is always last…

  • skjones_65
    Kelly Jones (@skjones_65) reported

@Roku your latest software update / redesign is quite bad. Is the intention to slow our devices down so we'll have to buy new ones? Please revert to the way it was or modify so our devices will not be so slow and almost unusable. New does not equal better.

Taking out the remainder of my Amazon Fire Cube controllers @amazon I have 3 and I thought they would all work well. Tried one Roku Stick and it is a much better experience. Too much advertising and useless stuff on Fire Cube plus it never really worked that well with You Tube TV. @Roku

@Roku It’s terrible for people with vision issues. The icons are too small. It was better the way it was with the large icons
