@conorsvan1 ICBC isn’t twice as expensive as Alberta lmao, it’s usually cheaper. And SGI is the cheapest insurance in Canada. Sasktel is the best telecom company in Canada and drives down the other big 3’s prices in Saskatchewan. A public option is absolutely a good thing for esssntials.

@Critter_Paths @RebelNewsOnline Oh gosh…ya…I’ve been doing this for 30 years…building switching centers, to central offices/and now Data Centers and supporting/installing/upgrading/planning/budgeting/building these projects and all the “wires” on poles, towers and in holes - all over 🇨🇦. Built networks for Bell, Roger’s, Telus, Cogeco, Videotron, Eastlink, SaskTel, NRBN, NFTC, C3Telecon, Sogetel……I can go on. Here is the scoop on Data Centers. Yes, DC’s take a ton of energy in the form of electricity and some “do” water. Not all are built the same. For context a simple (small) 50,000 square foot DC - can provide service to approximately 30M people globally again on today’s AI standards. This DC, again for example, can create over 3 to 7m in tax revenue per year for any community (and way more for the feds could get some DST from the 🌎. So this DC, for context, sits in a Dollar Store size building……and delivers a huge boost to the locals….to build that they employed over 200 part time and now hire 50 people to manage it daily…the 200 that built this, build the next - a team a crew, and they get way more $ after every gig….talk to me….I fly around talking about this. I think we have a better job to do in communicating the overall business, environment, economic, and social aspects of them….I have work to do….but Canada is cold, has a ton of land, resources, and a ton of access to global fiber connectivity. If not, I’ll install it with all my friends 👍🇨🇦👍

10:45 PM: A planned SaskTel outage will occur on March 11, from midnight to approximately 6:00 a.m., while crews complete permanent fibre repairs related to last year’s wildfire damage. During this window, Internet, wireless, and landline (home and business) services will be unavailable across multiple Northeast Saskatchewan communities, including Sandy Bay, Brabant Lake, Geikie River, Wollaston Lake, Black Lake, Key Lake, McArthur River, Cigar Lake, Collins Bay, Stony Rapids, and Fond‑du‑Lac. This work is necessary to repair the damage and ensure the long‑term reliability of services in the area. SaskTel apologizes for any inconvenience this outage may cause and thanks customers for their patience while crews complete the work as quickly as possible. In the event of an emergency, residents in and around these communities will need to physically contact their nearest emergency services for assistance. #skoutage

@alexmarz @SaskTel @Telesat That's what I expect from someone living in a city who is not using Rural internet Providers! As an IT & Cybersecurity Company that supports travel and works across Canada there is nothing as easy and that works as well as Starlink. From Africa to Canada! There are ways to secure data beyond your ISP, if people are not using that they should be. Telesat has been promising their solution for 5 years now, 4 Billion in Taxpayers money and still no testing. Amazon Leo is testing but is also US based.

And all 3 also operate under their own names So you got a total of 9 different carriers, but in reality it's actually 3 Videotron, Freedom, and Sasktel are the only independent cell providers in Canada There was MTS (Manitoba Telecom Service) but Bell took them over in 2017

@PremierScottMoe your budget should have put @sasktel in its place for being a degenerate crown Corp and charging service users more while they get services reduced.

@ctvsaskatoon Great work to all involved! Rather than asking if and when it should be built they had us fighting over who “funds it”. They forced this along because the RICH in Saskatoon benefit. Not you, never you! You just pay for their wealth! No act is avoiding us because of Sasktel Ctr

On March 18, crews will be completing scheduled maintenance on the satellite network that supports SaskTel Landline Phone services (Home Phone and Business Phone) in Uranium City. As a result of this work, SaskTel Landline services will be unavailable for approximately eight hours in and around the community. While crews will work to complete the maintenance as quickly as possible, the exact timing of the service interruption and restoration cannot be confirmed in advance.
