@tammyrobert Yet another move towards privatization This government has been hacking decent jobs from SaskTel in favour of Contractors for years Many valuable positions have been eliminated Service is in the toilet IMO

@ctvregina This will harm @SaskTel’s residential business more than it saves it money. Sasktel will need to pay for additional support staff to assist customers, as well as deal with the fallout resulting in the general distaste in the province for what people feel are unnecessary fees.

@SaskTel Thanks for the info. It's appreciated although I'm definitely not looking forward to the process. I feel that SaskTel should have at least included the email service for free until internet contracts expire.

@MittensEsq @joelghill SaskTel sucks at email. Proton Mail is far superior and secure.

@SaskTel @drmarcspooner They’re just going to have to pay b/c? I worked for a school once that paid $20/mth to Sasktel for almost 10 years for a service you didn’t even offer anymore and it was only removed because someone noticed the charge and asked you to take it off.

@drmarcspooner @Gromit1996 @SaskTel Sasktel's email hosting was forced out of province to maximize profits and when going to the lowest bidder all the time, you end up with ****** services. I think this a step towards removing email as a service altogether. Gmail and Outlook are better anyway

@tammyrobert It's a service. It's not supposed to make money. The costs are high because it's also a huge province with a tiny population, all of whom want electricity. Same goes for Sasktel and SaskEnergy. Moe just wants to use this as an excuse to sell it off.

@ctvregina This is bull. I recieved no notice of this from Sasktel in January. The only one I got from them was a "Protect yourself from fraud and scams" email. No ******* way am I going to pay for a service that they could run in a VM or container on a storage server using spare cycles.

@ctvsaskatoon I guess I will be giving up my sasktel email address. I have them all forwarded to a different account anyway just because I had sooooo many problems with it.

@SaskTel @alexYQR Encouraging everyone to transition to a free service isn't exactly easy... The non-profit I work for uses solely SaskTel email accounts. Now what? We pay this fee to maintain our business email addresses or transition and lose how many emails from partners and clients in space??
