@Shawhelp internet service has been down since noon yesterday. I am unable to work from home. What can shaw do to help me in this situation?

  • jozef_smith Jozef S (@jozef_smith) reported

@Shawhelp I don’t think you can blame this on hydro anymore, powers back on. pretty ridiculous this is how fragile your network is. Without internet for over 24hr now.

  • ObiOnyemaobi Sabastien Obi Onyemaobi (@ObiOnyemaobi) reported

@Shawhelp This does not explain how a multi-billion dollar corporation, with customers province-wide, does not have a plan in place for network redundancy in the event of a catastrophe. Redundancy is a must in the ISP world, especially to avoid these types of issues.

  • tonygoog Anthony Guglielmucci (@tonygoog) reported

@Shawhelp What's the status for the outage in Langley BC yesterdays link to the update page isn't working any more.

  • nicksimard Nick Simard (@nicksimard) reported

@simon_ook @bchydro I don’t get why a power outage in a relatively small area (149 people affected) means that I don’t have Internet kilometers away from there. Does @Shawhelp not have backup measures for this sort of thing? No other way to restore service?

  • sc2019de porygon (@sc2019de) reported

One year into a global pandemic, @ShawInfo has demonstrated themselves to be an unreliable and frankly unpleasant service provider. I am not impressed.

  • Tarbuckle69 Tarbuckle (@Tarbuckle69) reported

@Shawhelp Our office on Henning Drive has had no internet or phone service for hours now. Is there an outage in this area, and is there an estimate for when service will be restored?

  • ThatIndianArmy1 That Army Brat (@ThatIndianArmy1) reported

@AmberrIvy @ShawInfo Yes, I know I heard the fire was really bad :( ..... hopefully they resolve it soon!

  • ThatIndianArmy1 That Army Brat (@ThatIndianArmy1) reported

Officially switching from @ShawInfo to @TELUS because of @ShawInfo bad customer service, bad connectivity and lack of transparency in sharing estimates about outage times.

  • tahanmartins tahan (@tahanmartins) reported

@ThatIndianArmy1 @Shawhelp The BC Hydro outage seemed to have disappeared at 9:00 am.
