@Kromski1 @ShawInfo We had the exact same problem with Telus. Buncha commies. Thankfully we were able to get the second best fiber package for only $20 more than we paid prior so not an all out lose. We’d use 20+ gigs of data off our cellular cause it was so crappy but haven’t had one problem since

  • jfmezei Jean-François Mezei (@jfmezei) reported

@mobutils @CRTCeng @ShawInfo Also, HSA in Bell terminology refers to ethernet connectivity (PVC) without PPPoE. This was more common originally but pricing made the service moot. In Telus territory, both PPPoE and “HSA” are available on more equitable terms but ISPs tend to choose PPPoE as easier 2 integrate

@Kromski1 @ShawInfo We got Shaw when we moved to AB from Ontario and honestly it was the shittiest service I’d ever used. The modem was so slow it would literally disconnect itself and the wifi would go off for a few minutes. I hate to admit the fibre is way better, but, it is 🥸

@Shawhelp Can you at least tell us how long it will take to fix, people are suppose to be working from home. You support system couldn’t care any less to inform when will this sort out.

  • jfmezei Jean-François Mezei (@jfmezei) reported

@mobutils @CRTCeng @ShawInfo The DHCP part is important because the ISP has to give the cableco large chunks of IPs that are managed by the cableco, split into blocks for each CMTS with routing tables, and DHCP programmed to give an ISP customer an IP that belongs to ISP *and* routed to that CMTS.

@Shawhelp are there ongoing internet issues in Tuscany, Calgary? Past few days connection (wired or WiFi) periodically dropping.

  • 2bczar4u Sue D. Num (@2bczar4u) reported

@staceykate1973 Bahahaha, hate that Google looks after their mail. Help was very ignorant when switch happened. Blamed me & Outlook when a whole lot of my emails just disappeared. Did my own research to solve. However @Shawhelp told me to not subscribe to so many channels if I wanted cheaper.

  • EricaMcGavin Erica McGavin (@EricaMcGavin) reported

@Shawhelp do you have an estimated time of repair for the Cloverdale outage?

  • GBucyk Gregory Bucyk (@GBucyk) reported

@shawinfo how can you have Internet, home phone and cable all down for many hours? This is the problem with bundled services and single point of failure that I was told would never happen. @Shawhelp

  • d6rcy darcy 🖤🥀 (@d6rcy) reported

@Shawhelp .My internet has gone out at least 7 times this month, and I only have an internet connection. Why do I have to pay $115 dollars a month for such a terrible connection? I’m getting Fibre+ 300 & barely get my 15 up & 300 down :)
