-
☔🌈 (@nebuloved) reportedI'm trying out Mario Kart Tour and Mario Run to distract myself from how I'm feeling... I'm not sure if it's working.
-
Super Sonic x (@SuperSonicx17) reported@LordCalka @Silverxsx @Fortnite They were Nintendo developed exceptions. Mobile games =/= 3rd party collabs. Mario Kart Tour will shut servers down soon. Any other mobile game that isnt Super Mario Run either shut down or got a paid offline version. Except Pictonico as thats very new and also paid. Pokèmon is

thomasmahler (@thomasmahler) reportedWhy not indeed? I think it's an interesting phenomenon that even developers and publishers generally see mobile games as basically the lowest-heap trash tier by now without anyone really wondering if this sad reality could be turned into an opportunity instead. And I think what ultimately drives that change is that - clearly - things have changed. Consoles aren't cheap alternatives to PCs anymore. And building a PC is pretty goddamn expensive right now. At the same time, mobile hardware has improved at a rapid pace to the point where the AAA games we're playing on consoles right now could likely also be delivered without too many issues on hardware you already own. So the question becomes: Do mobile games always have to ship as crappy cashgrab versions of their higher quality brethren? My point being: Why would anybody play e.g. Diablo Immortal where you're being squeezed by Blizzard in typical mobile-game fashion if a game like No Rest for the Wicked delivers a better experience without any of that crazy stuff? Why would anybody play Clash of Clans and keep buying MTX if my little Luma delivers a vastly better experience and doesn't constantly ask you to flash your credit card? We've seen something similar happen 20 years ago when piracy was taken for granted by everybody until Apple and Steam came along and delivered better alternatives. And usually if you actually give people a better alternative, surprise, they might just be happy to support that. I think all of this is extremely interesting and exciting and I think while some others have tried to fix this issue before (Like Nintendo with Super Mario Run), I'd still argue that it's always been a bit of a half-hearted effort. But let's not praise the day before the night. It's entirely possible that nobody will care and in that case, not much was lost. But there's an opportunity here worth seizing.

AndrewFBR #RemakeTwinsanity (@AlternateFbr) reportedThere has one guy at Nintendo who just REALLY loves Mario Run, against all reason this game is somehow still randomly getting new updates and its amazing. I wish that guy at Nintendo also really loved Crash Twinsanity and randomly made a full remake of it......
-
Aha07 (@Aha07Aha07) reportedOH NO GUYS THE COPS ARE COMING Hey Sonic! Dash !!!! MARIO RUN!!!!!!! HURRY POKÉMON GO!!!!!!! CRASH IS ON THE RUN!!!!
-
- ̗̀ Tuddy ̖́- (@tudsworthington) reported@HatokTalk A realisation I just had that’s arguably worse : the lesson Nintendo took from Mario Run wasn’t “the mobile market is broken stop paying it attention”, the lesson they took was to become just as bad as everybody else, if not worse because you know they can do better.
-
Infinite8 (@TinTinfinite) reportedMario Run is also affected. However Dr. Mario World didn't have the issue (ironic, that the game will shut down in two weeks)
-
idk i'm just here (@akiiame) reported@rmgraphics_ true, I've never had an issue with that render. but the mario run render just slapped an anime mouth on him and called it a day.
-
Phil Johnson 🇺🇸 (@philjohnson1209) reportedEven Nintendo hasn't been able to have a good track record. Pokemon Go was good, but lasted only a month before the hype died. Mario run is good, but most of it is behind a paywall. And lots of people had an issue with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Same for Mario Kart Tour.
-
Caleb 🌕 (@owltism) reportedNancy Wheeler would try to mario run away from her problems in high heels
-
Sky... 2! (@Taco_Night_) reportedThere was definitely a time when Nintendo just let Mario run rampant. Do ANYTHING. Make WHATEVER you want up, have some Goomba OCs, maybe the Koopalings sing, just have fun with it, that's what Mario's about!! Now it's more like "THERE ARE STRICT RULES WHICH CAN NEVER BE BROKEN"
-
That Sam Guy (@StingX2) reported from Collingswood, New JerseyThat was a fun stream of the mario series, the highlight being that Mario 1 run. World 5 was an issue, but I 1 shotted 6. 7 wasn't terrible, and 8 gave me issue but 1 shotted 8-4 on the first go with 1 life left. woo
-
Daniel Kaszor (@dkaszor) reported@Patrick_ORourke I think the problem that Mario Run had was that it was designed for an era of mobile games that had already passed by 2016. Think it could have been huge if it had come out, say, three years earlier.
-
Tyler (@tyler_cfb91) reportedI think the projector is working fine, mom just needs to wait for the sun to go down in order for it to work. My mom has always been so dimwitted. One time she thought that the AV Cords for the Wii would work for the Xbox 360 & assumed that Super Mario Run would work on my Wii U.
-
Stuffily (@stuffilyagain) reportedi meant mario run but im not gonna fix it
-
Giustino (@Malatestus) reported@elaifresh Duh huh. Tower fortress and nitrome games in general are goated. Also Mario run is comically good. They made comically good level design for a game where you have only one button (and swiping left or right to kind of slow down if you want)
-
Ser Dumbass of the ******* realm (@randomcitizen49) reportedWHAT WAS THAT PAPER MARIO RUN WHAT ******** JUST HAPPENED??? ******* 75 hammers and then crash the game and then credits? Bc he played OoT first? N64 is wild
-
Treeborn Donkus (@poondonkus) reportedBoth of these games are just inferior incarnations of their console versions, and everyone knows it. Meanwhile, nobody liked Super Mario Run, and nobody noticed Dr. Mario World. The issue is that, yes, casuals play mobile games. But casuals don't spend money, either.
-
🟡Noah N Copeland🟡made Sonic Triple Trouble 16bit (@NoahNCopeland) reportedI remember when Super Mario Run tried charge a premium price and got crucified. That game was not a prime example of peak Mobile gaming or anything but I still remember it opening up my mind to just how crazy the problem is
-
. (@ivipostingstuff) reported@DanoDino86 @M1ster_Kevin @Wario64 tbf the problem with Mario Run wasn't the fact that it costed money, but the absurdly high price for mobile standards luckily, the game often went on sale to a way more reasonable $5
-
M3tr0n0id (@ja_roms08_9) reported@SuperMarioOOC81 Lmao!! Didn't remember him working out and announcing the Super Mario Run app
-
Rufus (@HylianEmo24) reportedWelp, Super Mario Run is broken and keeps getting an error occurred I don't wanna uninstall in case the game will not be compatible with my phone The WHOLE REASON I got a new phone was to play games like Animal Crossing Pocket Camp and Mario Kart Tour again 🥲 This is rude!!
-
Majewra in Clock Town (@Majewra) reported@Rei_Sh0 I'm well aware of all issues with Sonic 06, but it's usually considered the worst Sonic game even though a most of them suck. Mario Run is usually considered the worst Mario game, which is why I compare them. I don't count games like Hotel Mario.
-
El Capitan (@CptNintNdo) reportedIt’s funny to me how people still complain about micro transactions in free mobile games! If the game was $10 with no micro transactions know one would buy it, look at Mario Run! The consumer has created the problem. The dev’s need to make money if they can’t get any up front 🤷🏽
-
🌸Nikki Roessler🌷Year of Umamusume!🌸 (@VeloStriker22) reportedFinally, I now have a reason to get back into Mario Run at some point, but I need to download the app onto my phone this time cus it's the only working mobile device I have 🤭
-
路地猫 🦋✨ (@alleycat_127) reportedThis douche really thinks that mario run by Nintendo, a company that took money away from a Etika funraiser, refused to fix their joy-con functionality even after thousands of compliants and still continues to DMCA content creators, is more better than sonic games run by SEGA??
-
Person108 (@PersonthePerso2) reported@mr_evaporation I genuinely would rather play Mario Run or Sonic Speed Battle, yeah that last one was grindy but at the same time it felt like I was getting somewhere, when I played Crash on the Run I felt weirdly trapped in a way
-
Planpino (@planpino) reported@elliotduby OH NO GUYS THE COPS ARE COMING Hey Sonic! JUMP!!!! MARIO RUN!!!!!!! HURRY POKÉMON GO!!!!!!! CRASH IS ON THE RUN!!!!
-
- ̗̀ Tuddy ̖́- (@tudsworthington) reported@ZFighterAmuro @HatokTalk Love how at least when I last used iOS, most of the top reviews of Mario Run had words to the effect of "scam" in them. On an app store that has a serious and ever-present problem with actual scam apps.
