@khaamakha @telegram Android app you can fix that...tap group at the top, "notifications", and pick your choice. Even with off you get notified when tagged. Or go Custom > Smart Notifications and set it to like 1x within 10 min or whatever you like. You can also "mute for 1 hour". So flexible!

@PoorPourPore I doubt this has anything to do with the situation in the US. It's likely more related to the new WhatsApp Terms of Service and their data-sharing with Facebook. A lot of WA users are migrating to Telegram and Signal because of it.

@BartonBishoff I don't think "arresting" the company that is hosting Telegram is the answer. Telegram is a messaging app. You can't ban all methods of communication. Not sure what the answer is but shutting down entire messaging apps is different than holding platforms accountable.
