@NforEnd @sunlorrie People don’t get it yet that all providers are linked. Koodo is a telus company and when we had the rainstorm that took down Ontario this past spring - I had no phone and no internet for almost three days because telus was down.

@brent_whiteside That's not gonna change anything, a good chunk of Canada was left with 0 network, them renting off Bell and Telus Towers in the west wont change the fact we waited 14-24 hours.

@ThisIsMeCassie @ShayeGanam You pay extra for the service and telus is the only service that doesn't look connection on thr way to fort Mac.

@chieffatguy @JeffreyLuscombe @gmbutts I believe Telus largely runs their own network. Historically they were using CDMA when the rest were using GSM, so they definitely had their own digital base stations. They did share their analog network with others at the time, though.

@LeafandThistle This was a little priceless: I went to Telus to buy a pay as you go (solo mom need contact) and they couldn’t use their payment system. Good thing I have cash from when everyone was having accounts locked down/ I was ready to pay.

@CTVNews still down in NW mississauga for home internet, thankfully my cell is with Telus which works just fine

@Bryson_M Even if failing over to other towers wouldn’t have helped people in Airdrie on Rogers. The 1 telus tower there is well over capacity bcs the landowner of the other tower wouldn’t renew the lease. Across yyc we have similar capacity issues on towers, and loss of towers.

Lesson learned from yesterday’s @Rogers outage: diversify. Our household is currently Rogers everything: TV, internet, home phone and cellular. Won’t be much longer. Will be moving some of those services to @bell or @TELUS.
