Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • crosswisenow Crosswisenow (@crosswisenow) reported

@VivianBercovici Three major mobile network operators are Rogers Wireless (10.6 million subscribers), Bell Mobility (9.0 million) and Telus Mobility (8.8 million) not 2

  • Jabbers454749 John Bailey (@Jabbers454749) reported

@gmbutts @MarkDWiseman Not only that Shaw has a similar share structure. Telus has, even after all these years hopeless customer service. It is all far too comfyand will remain. Franchise should be subject to rebidding everyday 10 years.

@hali4045 The gag is I wasn’t even affected by the outage since I don’t use rogers but considering Telus is part of Canada’s telecom oligopoly problem since they’re one of the main 3 and host other networks with rogers and bell being the bigger 2, it’s predatory as hell.

  • chrisalecanada Chris Alemany 🇺🇦 🇨🇦 🇪🇸 (@chrisalecanada) reported

@VE7PMD @TELUS Nice. Not bad. Notice it is new activation only. Likely contract too?

  • kurtseifried Kurt Seifried (He/Him) (@kurtseifried) reported

@TheJenRollins Telus went to a converged IP network ages ago (they were one of the first telcos to do it actually) over a decade ago. If they crash their BGP there’d be a similar outage to rogers even for “landlines” which haven’t been POTS anywhere in ages. TLDR it’s all internet protocol now.

  • afrodykee 💎 TS ***** Genesis Evangelion 🦯 💎 (@afrodykee) reported

Canadas telecom oligopoly problem is so bad since even if you don’t use Bell, Rogers or Telus, the smaller providers often use the infrastructure of the big 3 so if there’s an outage, you’re also ******.

@JenniferWhalen What a sick joke. It happened to my gf. Wonder how many new customers Bell, Telus and others will get out of this Rogers outage.

  • living_marble Mary Gillis (@living_marble) reported

Thought today it is worse, before I could at least eventually login to my Telus account as long as I kept trying, now I can't.

  • hali4045 hali (@hali4045) reported

@afrodykee i use telus for my phone and actually have had issues with my plan this week despite having $60 in my account for a $15 plan. been seeing a lot of koodo praise after yesterday's outage, might make the switch sometime

If you think Telus's website is glitching right now because so many people are switching from Rogers... Nope. The Telus website has been glitchy and sending me to "bad gateway" screens for the last 3 days. They're just an internet provider who don't know how to run a website.
