In the #CRTC Dead Grandmother file, Telus wants to be able to block anything whenever they want under a new proposed CRTC doctrine of "Self-Help". Do you think CellCo's/Telco's should have the power of "Self-Help" when a regulator exists?

In effect, this may not be so different than Bell blocking who they want via AI (the Call-blocking AI file & the BotNet file). In these cases, like the Telus case, the CellCo/Telco takes on the role as punisher. This is called "self-help" per Telus This is also vigilantism.

@TELUSsupport Telus just installed modem to start internet & cell service. Was told old service at @shawinfo was not stopped & they'd charge $210 to cancel. @Bell.ca also said they'd not stopped service, but unlike Shaw, Bell honored our agreement not to charge me cancelation.

@Shawhelp what’s wrong with your employees at Guildford? Drove all the there to replace a defective Shaw modem and they said “it wasn’t their problem.” Really? I think it is. Time to move to @telus after being your customer for over 20 years.

Maybe Telus is right? There needs to be a new doctrine of "self-help" at the #CRTC which allows people to perform actions that in turn can harm telco's? Why not? This is what Bell & Telus are doing under the guise of self-help. I'll call it vigilantism though & it Works 2 ways.
