They wait till public outcry causes the provinces to gift them cable infrastructure instead of building it themselves. Now the same ppl can just buy starlink and never have to deal with our protected oligopolies.

It's not even like telecommunications regulations are more strict in Canada and US telecoms just refuse to meet them because they're actually much more lenient than in the US.

Farman Khan (@theCK001) reported@TELUS Telus sucks for the last couple of months. No service but keep paying bills. To add insult to injury, the care team told: though data is not working, calls and texts are still working, so there is no issue.

I was paying 50 cad per month, tax inclusive for 5GB data. When I was frustrated and called them, their customer service person did not care. I had to port to Telus to get 60GB data for same price.

Potentially $300 million revenue (could be more if the ASP on their radios is above $10k & service fees etc.) from here to 2029, from TELUS alone. The current market cap is only ~$200m.
