As the Rogers network outage continues, I’m still continuing to get emails from @Rogers addressed to my dead dad, even after being asked to send over his death certificate to confirm the account name change. This is the final nail in the coffin. Time to move on to Telus. 👋

Yes, Canadian telecom prices are too high. But opening the market to more competition won’t fix the infrastructural problems, because that competition will still be on the Rogers and Bell/Telus networks (unless they’re nationalized). “Competition” is the wrong frame here.

@TELUS Extremely disappointed and angry. My 98 yr old dad, long time customer, has been paying $50/month for a broken alarm service & obsolete panel! Promised a call/email today & rcvd nothing. Careless/sharp practice? One or both. Still waiting. #NOTok

@BittiegirlDonna @RogersHelps Actually I kinda lied, we use Telus for cell, have for over 10 years and never once had a major issue, a couple of minor ones but customer service really was excellent, and they're always helpful when we have questions. Now if we could just ditch Rogers I'd be happy!

  • AnjaKaradeglija Anja Karadeglija (@AnjaKaradeglija) reported

Most of Canada has two main wireline network options - the traditional telco (Bell, Telus, SaskTel) and the cableco (Rogers, Shaw, Videotron). Building a third wireline network to compete with that across the country doesn't make financial sense.

@telus your service is painfully terrible and you charge out the ***. how is this okay????

  • Persian_Filth Soroush / سروش (@Persian_Filth) reported

You should be just as upset about the rogers service outage, regardless of wether you have Bell or Telus. The simple fact that something like this can happen on such a scale is a threat to us all. Imagine not having access to your own money or emergency services.

We cut our ties to Rogers in 2008 when they still had video stores where you could pay your bills at the counter. Never went back and never would. Telus has never had any problems and always have great customer service every day They also have the best cell towers/optik in Canada

@CP24 My Telus sim couldn't even handle the increased network activity during the Rogers outage.
