@SBishayIRIS @iristel @Quebecor Vidéotron either buys Freedom (at which point it is a facilities based provider and has rights to that spectrum) or Videotron sells it to whomever buys Freedom (Verizon?) at which point the spectrum is owned by someone who has facilities based service in those areas.

kicked in & delivered modest gains for Canadians. Of course, Rogers might be req'd to spin off Shaw's mobile operations, w/ the most likely suitor for them being Videotron, but Quebecor's track record of maintaining a viable competitive presence outside QC is poor. 6/6

@peter102746 @Nancy_Crouse @CBCNews I very much doubt either CTV or Global would create an equivalent cross-Canada French-language service; rather, they'd claim it wasn't economically viable to do more than dub/translate what they find profitable. As for Videotron, it's not national & is too dominant in QC already.

@Monctonscout @ArponBasu Really? Ottawa’s biggest problems are bad ownership and a badly located arena. Whoever would own the Quebec City team (Quebecor or possibly Power Corporation) would be a solid ownership group. And Centre Videotron is centrally located in the city.
