BTW, when you hear that the Minister says that Videotron will be *required* to hold the licenses for 10 years and that he *expects* prices to come down note those words were chosen deliberately. Required = Actual requirement Expects = Emphatic hope #CRTC #Rogers #Shaw

Among the conditions the federal government has placed is for Quebecor to lower Freedom Mobile's prices by 20 per cent so they align with Videotron's mobile service prices in Quebec. Quebecor says they are willing to do this.

@fanCRTCProfling @BenKlass I've tried Freedom before. The data service was awful. That's how I ended up with Videotron. I needed something much more reliable.

@PHNX_Coyotes Embarrassing is an understatement. The Videotron Centre has lots of space @AZCoyotesPR the @NHL would never allow this in Canada especially if it was one of the poorest teams

The CRTC's decision is in response to a complaint from Videotron against Bell, Rogers and Telus, claiming that the Big Three were inflating the costs of wireless devices in order to charge higher cancellation fees.

@Bryson_M The problem is that promises were made to the 2007 class of new entrants (of which only Videotron and Eastlink remain ( Wind was sold so not sure original promises still binding). Govt agreed to shield them from new competition.

@TNewsly From Montrea Sud-ouest I confirme all providers using @Videotron network are down as well. I am with @B2B2Cinc no Internet since 00:17 though it was my Velop… no!

@caiobchi @cmaconthehill @CityNewsKIT Videotron competition lowered prices in Quebec. Much like MTS + Sasktel did in MB / SK. Competition for the big 3. Videotron has service outside of QC, in Ottawa, same prices as QC. The big 3 and their flanker brands would not match prices of Videotron in Ottawa. We switched.
