@denesrothschild @PMan71 @CompBureau Obviously, because Videotron IS a competitor of Freedom. One less telecom is terrible for all of us.

The Competition Bureau’s argument was completely nonsensical (at one point arguing that the sale of Freedom to Videotron was bad because of lack of vertical integration out west … how is that a negative)

@DeadByBHVR (1/2) Good morning and Merry Christmas ! My internet(Videotron) has been down since yesterday morning (~10:00 MTL time on the 24th) which has made it impossible for me to log into the game to play and redeem my daily gifts.

@Videotron Hi, my TV and Internet are still down and the link you sent me won't work. Could you please DM me here?

Nice to know @videotron is screwing with secondary ISP the sell to, supposed to be getting 15mpbs down and 10 up, but upload speeds r the low kbps and half or less my normal download rates, and they have given @TekSavvyCSR no info since the ticket was opened over 24hrs ago.

    ljp0101 (@ljp0101) reported

@Scorpionblue13 @JulianKlymochko Once it acquires Freedom, it has national scale and will be able to create a national network (and is bridged by the other agreements). Videotron will compete aggressively on price, data caps, no roaming, and more. Even if it wanted to do that today, it couldn't.

@TekSavvyCSR @Videotron Oh you already are, i talked twice with your help line on the phone, they opened a ticket yesterday and still hadn't gotten any info from @Videotron when i talked to them this afternoon. It's not you it's them.

Practically, this means: - Tribunal looked at merger as modified by parties (ie with Freedom sale to Videotron) - only AB & BC markets at issue - only wireless market Within these market bounds, there is no substantial lessening or prevention of competition.

@Videotron Ok, the chat link for anything but tech support wasn't working at all. That's why I asked.

@CompBureau Notice of Appeal raises 2 grounds: 1. Tribunal should have analyzed original deal (Rogers buys all of Shaw including Freedom), then considered whether Freedom divestiture to #Videotron resolves competition problems.
