    It was easier when there was just one oracle on walk street, now every big hedgie who sells or buys a stake can move a market. Peter Thiel announced that his fund sold its entire Nvidia stake last quarter. Nvidia’s share price is down 1.5% in the pre market. @XTBUK

    Us retail sales for May: weaker than expected. Headline sales fell -0.9%, ex autos sales were down -0.3%, but control group sales were higher. 🤔 Import prices for May: import prices are higher than expected, they were flat last month. Export prices for May collapsed. @XTBUK

    30% tariff for EU and Mexico. At first sight, This is bad news for EU, there were hopes for 10%. Tariffs to be imposed from august 1st. @XTBUK

    The AI trade is not slowing down. - Nvidia up 2.4% after moving into AI chips for PCs - micron extending gains, up 4% in pre market. - likewise, sandisk up 4%. These names can drive US indices to fresh records today if gains are maintained. @XTBUK

    Markets have barely moved on the back of CPI, the dollar keeps climbing and futures are pricing in a mildly lower open for us stocks. Bond yields are lower, which could limit dollar upside 2yr tsy yield down 5bps @XTBUK

    Stocks are struggling again today as the headlines keep coming from the Middle East. Bonds are recovering and the dollar is giving back gains. But oil is still the problem, above $104 a barrel. @XTBUK

    Likewise, In Europe the major pharma companies are only suffering mild losses. This is because companies are exempt if they are building facilities in the US. Most are, so their share prices are protected today, but it could lead to weaker growth in Europe down the line.@XTBUK

    @KATHLEENBROOKS @XTBUK Doesn't slow bond tapering from BOJ means gradual reduction of QE, and isn't ECB likely going to QE? so how does EU appreciate against JPY?....good read tho.

    There’s a new chipmaker in town and it’s threatening Nvidia dominance. At least that’s what the market thinks. Nvidia share price down 3.9% in the pre market after Meta says it will spend billions on Google AI chips. Alphabet shares up 4%, as its strong rally continues @XTBUK

    If there was going to be a catalyst to disrupt the risk rally this week, I think it would have been a sell off in bonds. This hasn’t happened, which suggests that a structurally lower dollar for the long term is not a problem for markets right now. @XTBUK

    Big moves to the downside for software sector yet again. Has the sell off gone beyond what is rational? Palantir posted 70% increase in profit last quarter. Will the us government really switch to an open source Claude plugin? Alphabet also down 2% ahead of earnings. @XTBUK

    BOE details: GDP forecast has been downgraded to 0.9%, CPI has had a large downgrade to 2.1%, down 0.7%. Unemployment rate forecast up, private sector wage growth down. These forecasts support more rate cuts. @XTBUK

    Stronger us data is not impacting bond yields, Tsy yields are down so far on Thursday, but the dollar is stronger and is the strongest currency in the G10 FX space today. @XTBUK
