@cogecohelps is cogeco internet down in Cornwall, Ontario?

  • nicpomeroy6 Nicole Pomeroy (@nicpomeroy6) reported

There’s nothing like being on lockdown, working remotely & having a bad internet provider that’s down @cogecohelps 🥵 #Cogeco

  • commons65091701 commonsense (@commons65091701) reported

@JorgeOdam @cogeco That would be a first as they have never done that in the past. I've lost service 5 times since Dec 1st, I won't be holding my breath on a refund.

  • Lina_Buns Lina🦄🐱 (@Lina_Buns) reported

@cogeco Another fix: if you have a VPN, turn it on.

  • rickchisholm Infosec Muppet (@rickchisholm) reported

If you are having #Cogeco issues, it can be at least partially remedied with a DNS change. Try switching to 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8 or 9.9.9.9 #cogecodown

  • candicebutler_ Candice 🖤 (@candicebutler_) reported

Good thing I pay for such top notch service @cogeco that my kid can't access his class online when the province decides to shut down again. Cool !

  • justincooke182 Justin (@justincooke182) reported

@constanzapool @cogeco No extra cost. Think of it like using Google's "phonebook" to translate addresses rather than Cogeco's. When the outage is resolved, I would switch it back to the previous state but there's also no harm in continuing to use Google's DNS servers (or any other DNS servers).

  • JorgeOdam Jorge Odam (@JorgeOdam) reported

@cogeco I am sure Cogeco will issue a refund to affected customers

  • JeffLeBlanc777 Jeff LeBlanc (@JeffLeBlanc777) reported

@KeeganB63977789 @cogeco The issue I have is that it’s not like they credit all of the affected customers when this happens. Unless you call to complain (wastes more time)

  • AdHominemIzBad Denis B (@AdHominemIzBad) reported

@mjwheelerali @slssteejay @cogecohelps Change your DNS servers away from Cogeco default to Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4 That will fix the issue
