Torontonian (@YYZ2YGK) reported@cogeco Will be calling Cogeco shortly to find out when my plan ends. Being with Cogeco has been a nightmare, saving a little bit of money each month isn’t worth the aggravation. Cogeco ALWAYS seems to be down for one reason or another.

Canadian Dividend Investing (@CDInewsletter) reported@kinisurrco Nice summary. I think your model is onto something, but at the same time I can't bring myself to buy more $T.TO (I sold $BCE.TO a couple years ago). That probably means it's a good time to buy. BCE is a no-go for me because I don't trust management. They're kings of saying one thing and doing another. Rogers I don't love the focus on sports franchises. Quebecor is still my favourite in the sector. Only a tiny bit more expensive than Telus on a P/FCF basis, but better balance sheet, a dividend that should grow, and a more focused company. Honourable mention to Cogeco too. Think they sell the U.S. part of the company and use the proceeds to pay down debt/do a buyback. They may even potentially take the company private.

Raphaël Vignes (@RaphaelVignes) reported$CCA.NE Cogeco Communications: Paid 6.6% to own a stock priced for a (not so certain) slow death. Cogeco is a Regional North American cable: internet, TV, phone, thin MVNO. ~1.6m subs. Canada holds. Breezeline (13 secondary US states) is the problem child. Kind of a Mini-Comcast (disclaimer: owner). The familt keeps 80% of the votes via $CGO. Thesis. C$60, 5.0–5.3x EBITDA, 13x FCF, 6.6% growing dividend. FCF still C$500–550m on C$2.5bn of equity. Monte Carlo (20k): median C$88 / mean C$93, 79% of paths above spot. You get paid while waiting for US to stop getting worse. Risks. Breezeline is half of EBITDA and still losing broadband to fibre/FWA, they just wrote off C$1.2–1.8bn. Maybe sold once the operations will have improved? Net debt C$4.44bn (3.2x). Buybacks paused until ~3.0x. Priced in. Ongoing −2/−3% sales, margins stuck, capex stuck 20% of sales, WACC 8.5–9%. Discounts. dying-cable multiple + ugly US mix + leverage + dual-class shares. Not investment advice.

Torontonian (@YYZ2YGK) reportedNEVER go with Cogeco. EVER. For the few dollars a month you save it is nothing but constant outages. I never should have switched to them.

ThePoopyMudFlap (@ThePoopyMudFlap) reported@cogeco the power outage that was somehow somehow causing my internet to not work - has been resolved for over a hour now. My house never lost power to begin with. Why is the internet STILL not woking in my house?

Some might say… (@paulbeit) reported@Critter_Paths @RebelNewsOnline Oh gosh…ya…I’ve been doing this for 30 years…building switching centers, to central offices/and now Data Centers and supporting/installing/upgrading/planning/budgeting/building these projects and all the “wires” on poles, towers and in holes - all over 🇨🇦. Built networks for Bell, Roger’s, Telus, Cogeco, Videotron, Eastlink, SaskTel, NRBN, NFTC, C3Telecon, Sogetel……I can go on. Here is the scoop on Data Centers. Yes, DC’s take a ton of energy in the form of electricity and some “do” water. Not all are built the same. For context a simple (small) 50,000 square foot DC - can provide service to approximately 30M people globally again on today’s AI standards. This DC, again for example, can create over 3 to 7m in tax revenue per year for any community (and way more for the feds could get some DST from the 🌎. So this DC, for context, sits in a Dollar Store size building……and delivers a huge boost to the locals….to build that they employed over 200 part time and now hire 50 people to manage it daily…the 200 that built this, build the next - a team a crew, and they get way more $ after every gig….talk to me….I fly around talking about this. I think we have a better job to do in communicating the overall business, environment, economic, and social aspects of them….I have work to do….but Canada is cold, has a ton of land, resources, and a ton of access to global fiber connectivity. If not, I’ll install it with all my friends 👍🇨🇦👍
