@cogecohelps @cogeco I've done both of these and while I have internet on all my handheld devices, my chromebook is still not able to use internet. It was perfectly fine until the outage this morning. What else can be done?

@b4technology @cogeco No, I didn't do it. Change DNS servers without knowing what I'm doing? That doesn't sound even close to safe, to me. I would need a lot more info first, so links to that would help, and then I would still likely not.

@cogeco Was this caused due to internet traffic overload? Hopefully your taken steps will prevent it from happening again. Were you able to put in place back up plans so that your web page and call center don’t get locked out like they did today during this large outage? Thanks

@justincooke182 @cogeco If DNS is down you could also hard code DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. COGECO could even temporarily make their DHCP service hand this out automatically avoiding any static entries. We were not affected as we don’t use COGECO for DNS.
