@cogeco was able to work around the outage by changing my DNS to Googles using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. I think the Cogeco DNS is down.

@Todd0575 @cogeco Service outages happen everywhere with everyone. Judging by the wide scale outage and the website and phones not working it sounds like something outside of cogeco’s control. Google is having some problems too. It’s better to research and understand not ***** all the time.

@LimestoneDSB The issue is with Cogeco's DNS servers. If you change the DNS servers on your router to google's DNS it fixes the issues. 8.8.8.8 8.8.8.4

For those with #Cogeco, if you're experiencing connection problems, you can hardcode 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 as your DNS servers until Cogeco fixes the issue on their end. Please dm or @me if you want to know how to do this

@cogecohelps for those who can try switching your DNS servers on your router to Google’s servers (8.8.8.8 for example). This resolved the problem for me. Seems like Cogeco dns servers aren’t reachable.
