The Ontario Cogeco outage today accentuates what we already know: lockdowns continue to benefit the rich and leave ordinary people behind. Big box stores open. Small businesses closed. School for those who can afford top-of-the-line Internet. And no school for those who cannot.

@AlexandraMazur1 just want to let your readers know. The cogeco internet outage is related to their DNS servers. If they change their dns settings to google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 they will be back online

So @cogeco is down across the province. Coincidence? Or maybe the system isn't built for millions of households having multiple video calls going all day at the same time... there has to be a better way... #onted

  • rj_tweety rj_tweety (@rj_tweety) reported

@cogecohelps how come the school board can notify of the outage before Cogeco notifies customers? Why doesn't your status page load? Maybe consider a cloud service to serve that up not on your network.

  • CAWguy J.L. 1285 (@CAWguy) reported

Is my kid evil? A rural kid that’s never known high speed internet is displaying signs of schadenfreude now that the in-town students have lost their #cogeco connection.
