“We had high hopes that this govt would make better decisions for business” roars Fred Perron, CEO of Cogeco. In a fit of petulance he was angered by Joly’s decision to uphold the CRTC devision to force telecom cos to open up their fibre optics network to competitors I am no fan of Joly’s . She’s messed up many a file but this is the right decision. Canadas telecom cos have grown fat and lazy under the current rules and the result they behave like a monopoly and result is Canadians pay higher fees than anywhere else in the world and get poorer service. These fat cats profess love of free market competition but love their protections by big govt. more. My only complaint is that Jolies decision didn’t go far enough - she should allow the big US telecoms up here. Then we’d get some real competition and hear some real whining

Not only is @cogeco ‘s service abysmal, their commercials are annoying as well. And the fact that people know “Cogeco Corey” by name indicates he has to go out way too often to the same homes with issues. Not the win Cogeco thinks it is.

My aunt just got her Cogeco bill. They charged $0.12 late payment interest and a $250 Late Payment Administration fee. Is this REALLY what happens now when the credit card company issues you a new account and you forget to update your automatic payments?

@Frizz461 Happened to me. You can find a place on tech support pages to reset your modem. I did that and then got on chat with tech support, but by the time they answered the Internet was working. I think it was the reset I did online. Cogeco support sucks.

Gotta say @cogeco is by far the worst service provider in the GTHA for Internet and cable… I must get 3-6 outages per day, hardware glitches constantly… switching and never looking back

@cogeco outages are noted in my area but the resolution time just keeps moving further and further out. Not helpful. How do I find out what the REAL issue is??!

@Dude93296982 @RedMaple2022 @Starlink Cogeco the same. Their customer service is very good, so im kinda stuck. Once Starlink takes over, all these cable companies are dead. Just like the phone booth

@MobileSyrup The issue with having all services together is if ISP is down, home phone is offline. Will Cogeco mobile phone service truly be separate on Telus' infrastructure or on Cogeco infrastructure? Try finding a payphone nowadays when hydro is off and one wants to contact utility.

@ContrarianTribe The same way the government monopolized the communication industry for the likes of Bell, Shaw, Cogeco & Rogers. The results are always the same... terrible service at unreasonably high prices and no alternatives.
