Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • yeti2yeti Daniel Lak (@yeti2yeti) reported

Thanks @Fidomobile and parent company @RogersHelps for preventing my doctor and I from speaking in a long scheduled consultation. Not life threatening but not what I wanted at a time like this. Your absence of service has been costly indeed to our society.

  • riarenouf Ria Renouf (@riarenouf) reported

UPDATE: @RogersHelps has put out a statement re: @Fidomobile and @Rogers national outages and says that the root cause of the outage involves a recent Ericsson software update that affected a piece of equipment in the central part of the wireless network.

  • Alicia__K Alicia K (@Alicia__K) reported

@Fidomobile @FidoSolutions when will my service be restored!? “Intermittent” I haven’t been able to call, text or use data since 7am. With no “breaks”. That’s not intermittent. No regular updates, no estimate time & no access to my data has been a huge inconvenience.

  • Fewarc Felipe Guerra (@Fewarc) reported

Does someone know from what time @Fidomobile has been down today?

  • KayEl_Naushera KayEl_Naushera (@KayEl_Naushera) reported

@Fidomobile Zero connection since last night... Canada's no.1 telecom network seems to be the worst in the world

  • KayEl_Naushera KayEl_Naushera (@KayEl_Naushera) reported

@Fidomobile Rogers/ Fido must compensate me for loss of business and deficiency in service.

  • balaramkakkat bala (@balaramkakkat) reported

@FidoSolutions @Fidomobile Been patient all day. Is there an update for service interruption? This is getting frustrating. Whole work day without network is not something I wish to deal with on a Monday! Better get compensated for this.

  • TheAYAZ_ Ayaz Abdullah (@TheAYAZ_) reported from Guelph, Ontario

@FidoSolutions @Fidomobile Poor service , u guys , intentionally not sending bill shock sms or email to customers and was overcharging customers. This is Karma...

  • d_spadafora Danielle Spadafora (@d_spadafora) reported

@Fidomobile I’ve had no service all day. With most of us working from home this is unacceptable. Do better. 🙄

  • RaptorBorealis Half-Vaccinated Raptor Borealis 🇨🇦🇮🇱 (@RaptorBorealis) reported

@ShamusMcfamous @AboutRogers @Fidomobile If they upgraded the active core, they probably did the same with the standby nodes. There's probably a bug in the upgrade (CPU overload etc), so the redundancy wouldn't help much. Just my guess, but it's possible - the timing suggests something like that.
