@Sorghe @charlesadler @Rogers And some of us had already made the decision to change. Not that the others don't have issues, but this one was a big one! Fortunately my cell service is with a different provider. By the end of the week my other services as well. Minor but 24hrs of weather data not sent.

@KatyFevans just ready you article on the tear in the magnetic field. I know I’m probably wrong with this thought but I wonder if this was the cause of the blackout for @rogers. A burst from the sun late during the tear may have affected their equipment?

So in light of the @Rogers outage on Friday. News says the outage resulted from an update creating some malfunctioning routers. Most importantly, people were not able to contact Emergency Services. Solving the monopoly in telecom services won't happen overnight. 1/3 @CanadianPM

@iPhoneinCanada Once upon a time, I switched away from @Rogers to @startca because of the cost. Had a small few issues in the beginning and once I was without TV and Internet because they needed a Rogers technician to come to my place.

@Rogers Tell the CEO Tony Staffieri to man up and be totally transparent with the public about WHY there was a significant outage on Friday.

@Michael_Brent55 @CheriDiNovo @Rogers Our landline was out all Friday as well. My elderly mother just got her landline service back today. No 911, no lifeline fall-detection service. Friend of my son who works at a retirement residence couldn’t call 911 when there was need for paramedics. Scary stuff.
