@andrewinereview @Rogers @rcmpgrcpolice STIR/SHAKEN does not catch these because the calls come in over offshore VoIP that bypasses Canadian carrier attestation. A DNS blocker on the home router catches the follow-up step: when the caller texts a link to a fake Service Canada page, the page refuses to load.

@RogersHelps Issue seems to be resolved. Thanks

@RogersHelps For the first year RF signal from C8689 was rock solid - 4 bars on various phones, Nokia last mile, etc. Now RF signal fluctuates about every 10 minutes. I have clear LOS to tower about 1 km away. Neighbours reporting the same problem

@tobi @Rogers If a carrier update can kill tethering in traffic, the rollout needs an owner and a rollback path, not a support ticket.

@RogersHelps Haha funny. You may care, but the company that employs you doesn't care. Over the last 6 weeks I've probably spend over 10 hrs on the phone with your employees, every time i think the issue has been resolved, only to find out nothing has been resolved. It's rinse n repeat.

Isn’t Hotspot part of the service that @rogers provides?

@tobi @Rogers This appears to be the best place to get support. I know someone who was on hold for about 2 hrs the other day. Apparently this is normal.

@laurenrjacobs @RogersHelps While a regular mobile SIM might work in a Wireless Home Phone device, that would still be using its original mobile plan. If you wished the WHP service, you would need a new SIM dedicated for that service. It isn't possible to change the SIM's service type.

@Ferreira_nszuki @Rogers They cut the service to the town I’m in. I have to drive 30 km just to check voice mail. I pay $118/ month for the ability to text if I’m in the right area. 17 months left in a contract and do you think these asshats will do anything?
