  • penseur_logique Jeff 🇨🇦 🇺🇦 5x Vaxxed (3 Pf,2Mod) (@penseur_logique) reported from Ottawa, Ontario

@caiobchi @cmaconthehill @CityNewsKIT Videotron competition lowered prices in Quebec. Much like MTS + Sasktel did in MB / SK. Competition for the big 3. Videotron has service outside of QC, in Ottawa, same prices as QC. The big 3 and their flanker brands would not match prices of Videotron in Ottawa. We switched.

@FP_Champagne It's a problem that the "heads of the major telecom companies" is 3 people. Your next meeting should be with the heads of *minor* telecom companies asking what they need, and with SaskTel to see if a crown corp. should own the infrastructure.

  • cstewartyqr Colin Stewart (@cstewartyqr) reported

@Thunderhowl @patdubois I don't think it'd be worse with SaskTel being private. As a crown, they routed ALL healthcare facilities in Regina through the same switch. That switch went down, and you couldn't call EITHER of the hospitals in Regina.

  • jarvismeier Jarvis Meier (@jarvismeier) reported

I can’t remember the last time @sasktel had had a major outage like @rogers due to the incompetence of employees. One more reason to support your regional carriers.

  • greengordon Brian Gordon - Go green or die (@greengordon) reported

@BakedGoodsYYC @mmorden @FP_Champagne You’re right but you’re missing the solution of creating a Crown Corp to complete with the oligopoly. Just expand SaskTel across Canada.

  • JudyRic16537148 Mom424🇨🇦 (@JudyRic16537148) reported

@JJ_McCullough I don't know if it's dumb, but my relatives in Saskatchewan pay a lot less to SASKtel for much better service. They also pay a lot less for their gov't car insurance. If we would have nationalized energy, waaay back in the 70's, we'd be like So your point?

  • g84199763 Ylir (@g84199763) reported

@David_Moscrop For every Sasktel there’s 1000 phoenix. But sure go on about how well the government manages corporations. Not like Manitoba hydro is raising rates faster then anyone can afford. You’ve found one good example out of thousands of bad corporations. Just move to China already

  • DuckinFickhead 🤘😎 (@DuckinFickhead) reported

Seriously, what the actual ****... I'm on @Verizon why ******** am I getting a recording from @SaskTel saying that calling my wife is a call that requires long-distance charges? **** both of your companies right now.

  • Gaulather STV is a PR system (@Gaulather) reported

@David_Moscrop It's a shame too because from what I hear, SaskTel is great, imagine if every province had an equivalent + the feds. So much more competition, shouldn't capitalists be down for that? Competition in the market is great! Why not break up the monopolies too?

  • JordDahMann Jordan Mann (@JordDahMann) reported

@JJ_McCullough We have SaskTel here in Saskatchewan and we pay like 50% less for our cell phone service than the rest of the country. How is this a bad idea?

  • WpgLoganberries Berries (@WpgLoganberries) reported

@David_Moscrop Had a look at Sasktel plans and they are on par with the national avg. No money savings that Canadians deserve. Their custimer service might be marginally better if you are someone who constantly requires it. They likely treat employees a bit better. Sasktel isn't the apex
