Greg Bamford๐บ๐ฆ (@Drofmab) reported from Regina, Saskatchewan@cstewartyqr Yeah - my issue was twofold: - I either had to transfer my Bell contracts to SaskTel, or buy-out nearly 2 years remaining with Bell; and - Rogersโ coverage was (still is) exceptionally limited in Sask. Cities, and major highways. Not viable for my use.

They thought it was oversubscribed. I finally dug into it and discovered a govt computer would get turned on every summer that was full of viruses & killed service for everyone.

Winter driving is miserable and slow enough as it is. Couldn't do it in the summer when everyone is on vacation and parking lots outnumber people.

Sounds to me like a foundation for a blackout if Sask rise up against the gov. Know this, We can still deal with Starlink direct and bypass the Crown for now. see ๐๐

As an IT & Cybersecurity Company that supports travel and works across Canada there is nothing as easy and that works as well as Starlink. From Africa to Canada! There are ways to secure data beyond your ISP, if people are not using that they should be. Telesat has been promising their solution for 5 years now, 4 Billion in Taxpayers money and still no testing. Amazon Leo is testing but is also US based.

However, there continues to be considerable risk for further interruptions to SaskTel Internet, Wireless and/or Landline (Home Phone and Business Phone) service due to ongoing fire activity and the nature of repairs involved.
