I still don't understand how @TELUS was able to buy @masconcable meaning both internet options in my village are controlled by 1 company. How is this not a monopoly? Tech support ends at 8pm and I have been waiting for an agent for nearly 20 minutes

@SadBillAckman @Rogers This is just a bonus for Rogers customers in Nova Scotia. The coverage here is pathetic with massive zones with no coverage, where Bell and Telus have full coverage. Half the customers probably didn't even notice there was a network failure.

@donaldbarker709 @BodenschatzRyan Exactly. Any services that were Telus and Bell that are run through the Rogers network, were also down. Though this sounds good, it's not a viable solution.

@sameo416 If it's anything like Telus, routine tech support has been outsourced to another country. Telus updated the firmware in my router remotely, causing conflicts in my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz transceivers. I had to suggest what went wrong to my tech support person in the Philippines.

@vote4robgill @Rogers That's literally the cost per day you spend on their service. IF Celluar/Internet is mission critical of you or your business you should have redundancy.. If you carrier is Rogers, your Home internet should be Bell/Telus. Outages happen and you should be prepared for it.

@mat_schmaltz Capitalism is the reason why the problem was not worse than it was: there were still lots of other options available because private companies made it so. Millions of people weren't affected by Rogers outage at all, because they were on Shaw, Telus, Cogeco, Videotron, etc.

@gibsonsgolfer @TELUS @TELUSsupport Thanks Bob, I’ll give them a call. Telus customer for 25 years should count for something!

@TELUSsupport I am sorry but all the equipment is telus except for the TV. In addition to that I have a disk player attached to a different hdmi port and it works fine. I did all that trouble shooting before I called. I am a veteran radar technician and I taught electronics. Not a fool

@PassiveCndIncom For some reasons I never liked buying or owning any Rogers stock! Yes, my sim card is a data plan from Fido but I just don't like Rogers. Even at work, I opted to use Telus, Bell, and Videotron versus Rogers.

@thevivafrei @theJagmeetSingh @PierrePoilievre Fido is owned by Rogers and Telus uses Bell towers I don’t know about the others lack of competition is an issue here and also just the sheer amount of things operated by 1 company
