@nsnwca I'm only using Rogers under duress, because their network is garbage outside of urban areas. You need to be on Bell/Telus to get anything in the Fraser Canyon, etc.

BC hivemind: Should I get Rogers or Telus for cell service? Optimizing for data connectivity

@fireyfemme We are still far off. There is zero reason we can not have better rates and service. Telus monopolizes the West and Bell has the east. Other than a couple tiny carriers that piggy back on them there is zero competition. They can charge what ever they want.

@TELUSsupport Oh, we've already been through that whole process. The only thing that can solve the problem? Another tower that takes the traffic away from existing infrastructure. Now, I know getting that built isn't easy, Eric if why I say asking Telus to do it all is unreasonable

@telus It’s been nearly 2 weeks and it’s nearly impossible for remaining residents on Lytton’s West Side to connect with the outside world. Can you get a better signal to them? Some only able to find reception every few days. Am worried sick.

@MelaneeLThomas The worst part is if you go to Bell, Telus, Roger's sites they all have the exact same $80 plan right now. Sure it's not fixed pricing. They all just happen to offer the same services at the same prices at the same time and raise them roughly the same time by the same amounts...

@TELUS @TELUSsupport call to cancel service at 1 address but retain at other. Offhand remark re looking at rate. Helpful agent transfers me to « retention »..wait 20 min…get person who gets all my info wrong then tells me ohanother dept has to be contacted..back on hold. Argh!

@BruceHalperin @asmallteapot Ya it is if you use a large provider like Telus or a contract plan, I have over 1Gbps home service and I pay only $25 for unlimited everything and 25GB+ mobile data with Shaw for my phone, and with all the hotspots and every router being a hotspot for all mobile users it's FAST.

I never listened to a word she said. Furthermore, all emails from Telus go directly to dev/null "How would you rate the performance of Xxxxxxxxx, the TELUS call centre representative who assisted you?"

@mig14 I'm with Public Mobile (Telus' no frills brand). You can get 3GB for $35 or 10GB for $50, but it's throttled (which unless you're watching HD video, isn't really an issue). I don't use much data, so only get 1GB for $25, and after the discounts it's only $20/mo
