Do you think some outfit, let’s say Telus, wants to use your song in an ad campaign for a product you don’t endorse - so they can? Don’t be stupid. Artists own their music. Venues using the music in the background must be registered with Socan.

@privacylawyer My guess is that they intend to hang their hat on regulation of trade and commerce, but its a damn good question. It would be a laugh if a court held that Bell, Rogers and Telus were subject to the tax, but not Google and Facebook.

@justinbartella its ricidulous how it went from such a good service with NHL Live to a dogshit mess with SN Now. im lucky to have telus and i just pay the extra for the NHL Center Ice package that has both feeds and mobile app capability

@TELUS may have cheaper plans and deals, but it's all useless when nothing else functions. Self serve, account management, and customer support are so useles and unintuitive it's laughable. Can't add second emails for billing, can't authorize users, security page is all errors.
