@merry123459 I just never put all my eggs into one basket. My internet is with Rogers but my cellphone service is with Telus. I was still able to use my data to do whatever I needed to do online. Can you imagine if I didn't do that?

  • vancity_austin Austin Fenton (@vancity_austin) reported

@obsidian_rex It only went down because there a useless company, you guys see conspiracy everywhere.leave rogers and go to telus

  • blueskycabo Jim Korchinski (@blueskycabo) reported

@ctvedmonton Eastern Canada was paralyzed by this outage - this is an issue when you have too few service providers that you cant even call it an oligopoly - it seems that China could have its way with Canada and our oil just by shutting down mother bell, rogers and telus with one keystroke

@RodKahx @Victoria59L That's the funny thing. The government....We want globalism! But we can only have a couple options for business in Canada. Hmmm WTF are you talking about tards. Sobeys, loblaw,Patterson group.... Air Canada, West jet and subsidiaries.. Bell, shaw, telus, Roger's + subsidiaries

  • WBDaphne Daphne Walking Bird (@WBDaphne) reported

@AmitAryaMD It was a bad outage, but it isn't true that millions of Canadians couldn't call 911. 911 calls on Rogers and Fido phones would use the Bell or Telus networks if they were available. But, it's true that hospitals couldn't call families.

  • DimeDroppa83 JC (@DimeDroppa83) reported

@RogersHelps @Rogers Reporting live from Metro Vancouver, none of my apps work and I cannot text message. Can only make phone calls and that’s SLOW. Figure it out or I’m breaking up with you and going to @TELUS

  • RogerReimer4 Roger Reimer (@RogerReimer4) reported

I can't understand how an whole network can go down with no backup I was in the Communications business for 35 yrs In fact on of Cantel's (former name of Rogers) first agents, Now with Freedom and if it goes down I go automatically to Telus or Bell a roaming agreement they have.

  • CStachniuk Chris Stachniuk (@CStachniuk) reported

@SteveRickettsSP @kaclk Both, I believe the original deal was struck when Telus bought Clearnet PCS. Outside of urban centres pretty much only Telus has towers/antennas west of Saskatchewan and only Bell East of it. There is some version of backend network routing that lets them switch.

  • JoelProsser Joel Prosser (@JoelProsser) reported

@David_Moscrop *I say by choice, b/c if the Shaw merger goes through, my choices in BC for internet are Telus’s (who only escape the poll b/c of their Western focused footprint) subpar offerings, or keeping my existing great fibre service after it transitions from Shaw to Rogers post merger

  • mvbenter Mike Benter (@mvbenter) reported

@JJ_McCullough There are other private internet networks around. Bell, Telus, Shaw as well as many provincial telecom companies. Last thing we need is govt ruining the networks for good. Best would be breaking up network portion of these companies, Libs dont have the guts to do that.
