@xplore_ca is down again!!! Final straw. Iโ€™m moving my service to #Starlink @SpaceX

Rural internet provider in Northumberland county @PLawrenceMP is dreadful. Xplornet is our only option. Typical upload speed is .2. Yes point 2. For anyone working from home thatโ€™s useless. When will we have access to good reliable reasonably priced high speed internet service?

Anyone have Xplornet & canโ€™t get consistent service with a 3rd party router? Really want to keep using what I have but my access keeps cutting, like a few times a day - the router says itโ€™s the modem & the modem says itโ€™s the router ๐Ÿ˜ญ Both support services canโ€™t figure it out

@xplore_ca why is the service so terrible all of a sudden????

  • fanCRTCProfling

Alternative explanation: These people use Xplornet that never works. These people used to hitting send 9 times for everything. A product of their "world Class" Canadian Communications. This is likely the best explanation and "OpenMedia" was honest enough to show it. #CRTC

@MrStache9 We have Starlink and we like it. We live rural so our options were limited and what we had was very poor in both cost and effectiveness. Starlink was super easy to set up and works reliably well. It costs us $156 a month which is more that xplornet but I wouldn't go back!

Having Videotron expand to Manitoba covers up for the government's failure in the Bell/MTS deal to maintain a fourth wireless provider in that province. Bell sold some MTS customers and spectrum to Xplornet, but Xplornet Mobile shut down last year.

@xplore_ca The connection is back. But it was down for an hour or two.

  • Eh_Bee_Sea

Fibre optic internet will be available to me very soon. The lines are in. The problem? Bell. I don't want to deal with Bell. Xplornet - now called @xplore - has been our only reliable option for rural high speed for almost 10 years. Until now...

@preta_6 With Starlink, while not as fast as Telus fibre (right now), you can look forward to incremental upgrades in speed, and equipment, over time. I suggested to a client suffering with only the choice of Xplornet (crap speed + outages) switch to Starlink back in 2020. Installation couldn't have been easier and reliability of his Internet connection immediately stabilized. Everything has got better since, including being sent the latest hardware for free. Starlink's plans for continuously upgrading their satellite constellation were the deal maker for me - and should be for others suffering under Xplornet.
